My accupucturist had one of these, and liked it a lot.

I got some treatments from him--the water turned very dark grey-brown. After a few times over some months and some other detox, it stayed clear, so I stopped getting the foot baths.

However, I still was and am having a lot of detox indicators, like flushes when I take low doses of niacin, and brief bouts of neurological problems that seem to me to be related to toxins coming out of the body. And, I'm still taking chlorella three times a day.

From my perspective, it may be helpful, but isn't a complete handling. I wouldn't buy one, personally.

Best,

Cass A

Scam--it is simply a chemical reaction with the salt water and the copper/nickel plates.

A friend of ours has had a hair analysis before starting foot bath detoxes. After 6 months of using the ionic detox she had a repeat hair analysis.

The heavy metals were reduced much more than they had been with previous oral detox methods. She is convinced the foot both is helpful.

I have been getting ionic footbaths for a year. Last February I started seeing an Alternative type medicine Holistic Cyropractor on a weekly basis, who has treated lyme patients with cold laser photonic therapy.

I get muscle tested, back adjustments, and various cold laser frequencies for meridian balance, lymphatic drainage, detox, immune system treatment, and pain management.

I only get treated for three items each visit based on how I'm feeling and muscle testing feedback. I end the session with a 25 minute ionic footbath.

Sometimes the color of the water does change based on the cold laser treatment.

Anyway, in March I started with a new LLMD and received much more agressive ABX protocols for Lyme, then moved on to Mempron/zith for five months.

During that time my liver enzymes stayed within normal range. In mid-summer I started to reduce treatments to every other week, and by October I had slipped to once every three weeks. I also had swithed over to a Zith/Rifampin/Doxy protocol for bart.

My Novemeber labs showed elevated liver enzymes and had to stop all ABX treatment in early December.

So my elevated liver enzymes were either caused by the Rif, an increase dosage of Gabapentin for my nerve pain, and/or reduced detox and footbath sessions.

I'm back on ABX and started IV Rocephin/Zith four weeks ago. I'm also back to every other week with detox sessions, and just added Rifampin back into the protocol this week.

Now I get blood work every other week. My last labs showed liver enzymes in the low end of normal. If all stays well I then might up my dose of Gabapentin to see what happens. Other wise I plan to stay with my detox support schedule.

For me, one ionic foot bath made me feel so incredibly drained, as if every single mineral in my entire body had been removed. It took about 6 months before I felt back to my usual self again. I won't get another...

I use to do them after my Physical Therapy appointment. They would turn the water colors but for me, I never felt any different from them.

I know the therapists there would keep talking about how it gave them so much energy after doing on, but perhaps it was because they were healthy in the first place??????

I do know some feel they are doing something and hey...in that case, I would say to stick with it. But for me....nothing. It just made my wallet lighter.

Is the ionic foot bath done with an iontophoresis machine by any chance? We have one that we used years ago to help my daughter's symptoms of hyperhydrosis. It would be great if I could use this to help my symptoms of Lyme.

I am a holistic practitioner and I own one. I use it as a detox method. I have to say that my colours have drastically changed since having lyme.

Please note that the colours are not actually coming out of your body - the colour array/detector is sending out a colour in response to the "clear" toxins being released from your body. If you run the machine without your feet in the foot bath the water would turn a light orange due to the toxins on the water - you do not see the thick/sludge that results from a persons feet.

if you decide to use this make sure you use it 4 to 6 hours after meds are taken or anytime before meds are taken. You do not want to pull the meds out of your system.

T.Maria - are you saying that the iontophoresis machine can be used for this by soaking my feet in the water while the machine is on? I think I remember my daughter using it one hand and one foot at a time.

Ddpei...the one I have and use with my clients is called
"Ionic cleanse Foot Bath" and is always used by soaking both feet at a time - I am sure it would work with hands as well but much easier to use as a foot soak. Google ioncleanse foot bath and let me know if it is the same?

Thanks T.Maria. I think they are different machines. But I will look into whether there might be a similar use for my machine.
