I am very interested in rhodiola.
However i take a small dose of trazodone to sleep at night 12.5 mg.
Is it dangerous to mix the two of them together?

rhodiola had me wide awake speeding my brains out - I took one small dose at noon & went to bed at midnight and stayed awake.
Nice little health food store gave me my money back. I stay away from that stuff.

- tricia,
I do not know. I've not taken any Rx for sleep in decades (because even a tiny night-time dose, they clobbered me around the clock & I never really could wake up).
I do recall having taken low dose trazodone for a month or so back in the mid-'90's - and I know I also was on regular herbal support then (though not yet dx with lyme, etc.).
My hunch is that it should be fine to take in the same day adrenal support supplements and a low dose of a sleep aid. (I'm not a medical person, though. This is just my hunch.)
Just be sure, as with any Rx, that you have good LIVER SUPPORT because many Rx can stress the liver (and that makes sleep - and waking up the next day - harder, yet).
If the liver is stressed, that will also cause severe fatigue and strain the adrenal system.
It's best, of course to have professional advice.
ESG is correct, of the adaptogens, Rhodiola can be a bit too stimulating for many with lyme. Same with SOME types of Ginseng (although Siberian Ginseng is not really a Ginseng at all).
Licorice, too, can be too stimulating for many with fatigue issues.
For those that are a bit stimulating, usually they are best as PART of a balanced formula.
I think you may do better with ashwagandha for a start.
Always start with a low dose, early in the day, with some food.
You may have seen this thread but, if not, there is some good detail here, specifically in Wilson's Adrenal book and site.
