i am 23 yrs old and want to stop my bcps and take bioidentical hormones. the bcps are working for me i just want to use something that is more natural to my body. if the bcps are working can my doctor gauge how much bioidenticals i need with my bcps as a gauge? and then if needed he could adjust dose as needed? i dont want to do testing becuse its expensive and the last time i went off bcps my period was sooo painful and my skin broke out horribly.

I would think you would need to go off the pill for a few months, have your hormones be at your natural state, then test them to see what you might need supplemented.

I am not too sure you could get predicatble results at your age with Bioidentical . And at your age, I doubt many docs would risk going into uncharted unstudied territory . Many docs will not use them on old ladies like me . Bio hormones are often weaker than the pharma brands . You need to call different docs and ask the office person if the doc would use them on someone young . I rather doubt it will be easy , but if I wanted to do it I would look for a woman doc who might be more sympathetic to your objective.

Annxyzz has brought up valid points.
Just to tell ya too, you need to test before you get them. No doctor will RX willynilly just on a "maybe it'll help".
It is not a just yearly thing neither, need to test every 6 mons at first and insurance does not pay for the salvia tests.
