I have been reading some about Ledum for lyme lately. Has any one here used it? and how do you go about it?

I have responded well to "playing" with homeopathic remedies, I have picked up at the health food store. along with a "how to" book.

When I had my last rash I used urtica and then apis as directed on the label and in the book. This horrible itchy rash disipated in 2 days. Ususally they last for weeks spreading to other areas.

for pain, I tried with less success arnica. But then I found a homeopathic cream called neuragen that really worked for my foot pain (it contained several homeopathic compounds)

I have to say I am a skeptic. But I have responded very well to homeopathic treatments repeated times. So I wanted to explore the use of ledum in conjuction with my abx. I can't really affort a homeopath right now in addition to LLMD. But have read that there are specific ways to use homeopathy...and more... and more often does not mean better.

Can anyone offer advice in dabbling? and if I can do more harm than good?

Ledum did not work for me, even with various tries, different doses.

Still, I think Ledum should be carried on walks and taken immediately if one detects a tick bite. THAT is the real effect of this. Still, for some, they say later used has helped.

Homeopathy in General?

I was treated few times by a couple different (supposedly) expert lyme NDs. One caution with those who practice "Classical Homeopathy" is that they may think there's an underlying emotional reason for holding onto illness.

Now, emotions do sometimes get in the way.

But those who assume when their treatments fail, that it's my fault, well . . . I know they were wrong. They were not at all lyme literate regarding the

Science of Borrelia.

I do not think it is enough, by itself. Not at all. It can't address the actual spirochetes.

However, for symptom relief, it can be of help. Early on, at the time of the bite, perhaps.

Still - as PART of a protocol - homeopathy can certainly have its place IF guided by someone who is really LL and ILADS aware.

A week or two ago, someone posted what appears to be a very good link for you. It would be at - or near - the bottom of this thread:

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

D.Ay. (Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine);

D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine);

Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc.

Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees . . . .

Treating Lyme Disease Naturally

- after other treatment failures, one young womans successful experience with homeopathy & herbal support treatment.

Just stay with her as she takes us through how she succeeded. She said it "worked miracles" - very authentic. Very hopeful.

(Parental caution for those with young children near your computer as you watch: there are few "adult" words near the end. Totally in context and within reason, yet perhaps not best for young ears.)

I used it for about 4 months. I was just starting my ABX protocol and did not find it helped much.

However to take the edge off my pain, I take Arnica Montana 30X. It works well and although I still have pain it reduces the level from a 6 to about a 4. About an hour after I take it I notice less stiffness and achey joints.

If the pain is much higher then I take something stronger but lately I have not needed to. I get them online at pureformulas or they have them in the store at Vitamin Shoppe.

All the Best, MattH

Last night I started re-reading chapter 7 of "Insights into Lyme Disease Treatment".

Dr W., MD and Classical Homeopath.
Very compelling stuff.

I then searched and found a MD/CH in the city where I live. I will be giving him a call.
I wonder if anyone knows of the homeopath to whom I refer and has seen him?

I don't think I can handle Abx and/or herbs - so homeopathy might be my only hope.

We have an acquaintance who is a moderator on another forum who says she was cured with homeopathic medicine and far infrared sauna. We went to her doctor and he perscribed several remedies, one of which is Gelsemium Sempervirens.

You might want to read some info of this site: (NOTE this is not the practioner we seen)

http://www.cindeegardner.com/articles/9545617127/treating-lyme-disease-naturally

Of course, everyone responds differently to homeopathic medicine and it would be wise to get a professional opinion prior to using any remedy.
