Anyone here had this test done since LabCorp added the new additive (Fusarium) to the test tube? If so, anyone still have crazy high results? Normal was 0-2,830 before.

I really, really want to know this. I've heard nothing on this. I want to know if the old test was unreliable causing lots of false elevated levels. My 25,000+ level is my main reason for suspecting mold in my home. If that was invalid...

Seek, I had mine done at Lab Corp 10/31/11. The normal range, on the test results, is stated at 0.0-650.0

Mine was at 1227.0 which is much better then over 11,000 which I tested before.

Wow Elaine, that is a huge difference, but still out of range. Did that correspond with improved health?

I look forward to hearing how yours comes back Feelfit as I remember you once had an insanely high result (43,000+). [Smile]

Seek, the original 11,000 + was when I was first diagnosed 30 months ago.

So, yes there has been much improvement.

Still out of range but working on it.

Thanks for the clarification. So comparing those two numbers is like an apple to an orange as testing methods differ (Fusarium vs. not). That aside, I know you've been through a lot healthwise so you certainly have reason to believe your number may be dropping proportionately.

I really want to see someone post an elevated number under the new test of 5-10x normal to see if it still happens. However, of course I don't want to see anyone ill. [Frown]

I'm just desperate to know if my health issues are environmentally caused or other means. My brain just feels shut off now in the house. It's scary. I used to think so clearly. Now I just sit dazed with terrible fatigue. A poisoned feeling.

Hi, I just had quest do C4a and my result was 5500, doc said normal was ~2800 or lower. I have a relatively new, custom built house, so it wasn't built all that fast or anything and I have no carpet, all hard surface flooring.

My doc didn't necessarily think it was mold from my house, but just inflammation from lyme. We're going to "address" this more at next appt, but in the meantime the essential oils from omeganutrition.com and fish oil I'm taking are supposed to help to address this.

My LLMD has the C4a and C3a tests done only at National Jewish Hospital in Denver. He said that they are the best infectious disease experts in the country and he only trusts their testing for those sensitive tests.

I started out at 14,000 and am down quite a lot. I am tested every three months and my numbers keep dropping!

The lyme tests he will do only at Igenex Labs in Palo Alto. Those, too, are better and better! Some times they are negative, but overall I have good results. But it seems that the coinfections are much more difficult to identify and to cure.

The other test he orders is the CD57 that evaluates the immune system. I think I started out very low, around 20 and am finally up to 60. I am not sure, but I think the target is 120 and higher.

Another simple way to measure progress: have someone take your portrait every 3 or 4 months. I just sent my picture to my brother and he said I look better than I have for many years! Hooray!

PATIENT: "We are all entitled to our opinions. I don't think you are a doctor."

Hello, Mr. Seekhelp!

As you know, under the old testing, my results were always astronomically high- the first being +45,000. Another test went down to only 2000 or so above range.

With the new test, my result received yesterday was 2854. Only 54 points above range. That said, with the new testing, how significant is 54 points out of range? Does it draw concern or an 'eh, not that bad'?

Have you had the testing under the new standards? If so, what were your results?

Feelfit, the Lab Corp new range is 0-650 for normal.

Do you know if the range is the same for Quest?

I had mine done by quest. the range is 0-2800.
It was a send out to the same place that LabCorp sends to?

Correction, 0-2830 is the Quest range and it is a send out to California.

My C4A test in the old numbers was 14,000. After treating for Bart for many months, it has come down to normal. Also, the gradual decrease in my symptoms mirrored the gradual decrease in the C4A number.

It seems clear to me that my numbers are related to infection.

My late February C4a came back from Lab Corp as
443.2. That on a 0.0-650.0 scale.

Finally normal after 33 months, originally having counts over 11,000 on the old Quest test.
