Please let us know your top fav method(s) or product(s) for organizing pills and keeping on schedule with dosing.

Several large pill trays? Multiple re-purposed bottles with mix of pills labeled "with meals", "after meals", "bedtime", etc?

My LBb is old & widespread, but I'm new to our treatment regimes. Would most appreciate concise, on-topic replies for the cognitively impaired. [dizzy] Help me know what I should buy so I'm not opening the same bottles again & again & achy arthritic again.
Thanks very much!
Smile

I have a big 7 day pill organizer with 4 compartments per day (morn, noon, eve, bed). Each day can be removed and carried separately.

My daughter has to take some pills before meals, so I put those in the noon box and she takes 1/2 the pills before breakfast and before dinner.

Her noon pills are only fish oil pills so I just get those out separately.

I have 2 of these organizers, so I set them up for 2 weeks at a time.

I think I got this at Walgreens. I have tried several and for us, it is important to have very big compartments.

you know what i use? my husband's fishing lure trays.

you can get large or small with lots of dividers. i use my label maker. that way i can put a whole bottle of stuff in one section.

one large can accommodate about 10 bottles of stuff or more depending on how you use the dividers.

works great!! (course he ain't too happy when they come up missing, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, right?)

I'm lucky.. I only have to take meds twice a day (well, except bedtime)....

So .. I put a.m. and p.m. into separate containers (round things with lids that screw on... compliments of Wally World) and I'm set for the day!

Thanks, jkmom and randibear!

I saw the organizer mentioned on the drug store's website and will go this afternoon to shop.
Love the tackle box idea as it will fit right in if I ever (NO, WHEN!) I get well enough to camp again. When I am stronger, maybe next wk, I'll look in a camping/fishing store or Target.

Lymetutu, I endeavor to dance with glee as my health WILL improve someday this decade.

I appreciate your prompt replies with very good suggestions for me!

I keep a list of my meds that makes it easy for me to look at and remember when to take what. I do not take them out of their RX bottle until I need that dose.

If I am going to travel then I will pack my meds in individually labeled snack baggies (ex: one for "AM", one for "Breakfast", etc).

It takes time but you will figure out a system that works for you.

I *love* my med/vitamin organizer, so I thought I'd share.

The link below is for all of this company's products. I have the monthly vitamin organizer, without the timer.

I don't have any financial ties to this company.

Happy to see you back Remember to Smile!

Good ideas on organizers. I just use two of the biggest pill organizers I can find from K Mart. I can get about 15 supplements etc. into them which I take twice a day.

There are times I need to take something on an empty stomach like lumbrokinase, and I just have to remember it so I have it sitting out where I can see it.

I typed up a list of what meds and supplements to take at what time of day and leave it on the counter (or on the fridge). When I have to take some, I just bring the bottles out of a big basket in my kitchen.

Once I take a pill, then I lay the bottle down on its side--That way I know for sure if I actually took the pills or not (so spacy about pills).

I use bead organizer boxes (I'll be able to keep using them after I'm done with the meds! [Smile] )

I tried some fancy ones, but they are never big enough to fit the supplements. Now I use an extra large 7 day vitamin/supplement organizer. We take meds/supps 6 times a day, so it works for 1 day. I used my label maker to cover over the days of the week with times of day instead. And I made a spread-sheet which I posted in the cupboard where I keep the meds, so when I'm filling it up each day I don't have to think too hard. I bring my spreadsheet with me to appointments, and if any changes are made I write it on there right away so when I get home I can change it on the computer and reprint before I forget anything.

The vitamin organizers are big enough to fit a lot of supplements at once. And the best part - I get them at the dollar store for a buck. DH also saw them at Walmart for a dollar.

For travelling I use tiny ziploc bags you can get in craft stores, or the craft section of a dollar store or department store. I also use these tiny baggies for sending meds/supplements to school with the kids. I write on them with a marker so there is no confusion about who it's for or when to take it.
