Has anyone here tried a herb mushroom called "chaga "? I ask because I have a friend seriously ill with HEP C for many years who was so debilitated she was almost always in tears with misery , and not capable of doing much at all . She is 58 and was advised by an herbalist to try chaga.

Oddly , she said she started feeling better slowly but almost as soon as she started it and now feels a thousand times better and enjoying life again. Hard to believe , but I know it is true .

I just ordered some and wondered if anyone here ha tried it .

All the medical mushrooms I've used over the years have always made me feel better, too.

Their strong suit is that they are so very nutritive in nature. I feel better even just when I eat mushrooms with a meal, which I try to do at least 4 times week.

Cordyceps Sinensis and Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) are the two medicinal mushrooms that have helped me the most. Ganoderma made me much more tired, though, since it's so relaxing.

Wiki provides a nice start:

Excerpt:

. . . Further research indicated these polysaccharides have strong anti-inflammatory[10] and immune balancing properties,[11] . . . .

Like Keebler, Cordyceps is the one that has helped me the most (Lion's Mane not as much), but I have a friend who felt a lot better taking chaga.

The friend I had who takes it was sick as a dog and is FAR better !I spend enough on supplements so hate to spend more , but her improvement is literally amazing and HEP C is a terrible disease . Her liver enzymes were cut in hlaf , which makes me suspect chaga may improve glutathione alng with immune function- a hunch .

I ordered after reading reviews of users at iherb and amazon.
