I had a 3 hr glucose test and my insulin levels rose to be sky high while my glucose went high, then became very low. Is this signs of insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, or diabetes, or none? I was thinking of taking metformin but don't know if it's the appropriate medication. I also have been diagnosed with pcos based on symptoms.

Fasting...then give you a lot of glucose...up goes insulin to carry the glucose into the cells...down goes glucose (blood levels of).
That means insulin is doing its job.

So the test was normal? It did flag the insulin as high and the glucose as low, at the end of the test. I have read that metformin can help other symptoms of pcos, would it be bad to take it?

In hypoglycemia caused by excessive insulin,
***liver glycogen*** levels are high, but
the high insulin level ***prevents the glycogenolysis*** necessary to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
Glycogenolysis = conversion of glycogen polymers to glucose monomers
NOrmally...The hormones glucagon and epinephrine (adrenaline) stimulate glycogenolysis.
Wikipedia.
BTW...."insulin shock" tried many years ago did not cure lyme.
And DNP (in a class with cyanide) to speed up glycolysis (which = weight loss) is very dangerous, IMO. This was also tried years ago. It is illegal, but was done in Italy. A young doctor, with lyme, died. It was also tried to stop cancer.
Speeding up glycolysis can seriously mess with the electrolytes.
