my wife is suffering from lyme for 15 yrs
recently she has been put on mepron
the pain is so bad she cant walk
could this be die off im very worried any insite would be appreciated thanks

Sounds like a herx, did she start at full dose? Maybe she can back down and detox for a couple days and start back at 1/2 doses until she can tolerate it.

Do detox search here and learn how she can help her body to detox. Alka Seltzer GOLD, Epsom salt baths, Coffee enemas to name a few.

I hope she is seeing a good LLMD. Praying for her, I remember those days. It does get better but it takes a long time. Encourage her and be patient with her. My husband stood by me through the worst days and I know that is what held me together for my kids.

Oh yes.. A herx is an intensification of existing symptoms or an emergence of known Lyme or coinfection symptoms. In this case, it would be symptoms of babesia, since that is what mepron is for.

Many patients back off the meds when the herx becomes too much to handle.

She should call her LLMD.

and how soon after starting the meds can it happen? 2 days?
