Yesterday I spilled carrot juice all in my car and used the wet dry vac in my garage to clean it up.
The wet dry vac had previously been stored in a moldy mildewy trailer.
Not even an hour later my face puffed up and my ears got full of pressure and stuffy amd it's hard to hear. This is not fun!!
I think I had a reaction to the moldy vac. Is there anything I can take to help my ears unclog this is a really uncomfortable feeling, on top of everything else.
Would someone who didn't have mold issues respond like this? This makes me think I do have mold issues after the vac causing such problems.

- A couple different processes are likely going on.
1) did you wear hearing protection at all times when that wet dry vac was turned on?
If not, there may be some damage from the noise. When on antibiotics and other certain RX (and for months afterward, too), the ears can be damaged at even lower decibels levels than would be be loud to other people.
ARNICA homeopathic might help but so might MYELIN SHEATH support.
REST your ears. Avoid all headphones and especially in-the-ear pods.
REST YOUR EARS - even if you wore hearing protection, they may have suffered trauma and need rest.
Even with hearing protection, the sound travels through all the bones in the body to the ear - and through the sinus passages.
Avoid noisy machines - and wear protection when even around a hairdryer or blender. Really. It matters tremendously for anyone on abx and for all with lyme as lyme can really clobber ears, too.
2) Histamine / Immune reaction to MOLD. Probably.
EVERYONE has mold issues when around mold. Everyone. Really. Some just are not so loaded with all other symptoms as someone with lyme & co.
Some have better immune function but no one gets off the hook.
Mold from forced air sources is never good for anyone.
I can't say about Rx or OTC products but were this to be for myself, I'd taking STINGING NETTLE capsules, QUERCERTIN . . . Saline nasal solution - very gently blow nose, not forceful.
A NETI POT may be of help, too. Boil the water and cool it first. Never straight from the tap.
Google the concept behind "Himayian Salt Pipe" to soothe lungs.
Drink lots of water & warm teas, eat chicken soup - good for lung clearing out.
IDENTIFYING ENVIRONMENTAL ILLNESS & MOLD EXPOSURE IN PATIENTS WITH PERSISTENT LYME DISEASE
Lisa L. Nagy, MD Video $15.
(Excellent to get, even if mold is not an issue, this is full of great information.)
She is NOT A LLMD, however, she understands the kind of toxicity issues faced by many with lyme. She did not have lyme but overcame very serious MCS. She spoke at the recent ILADS conference.
It's a great presentation to see. The DVD can be ordered. Great detail about toxicity issues also here:
Do not hesitate to see a doctor if this gets worse or does not improve very soon. -

- STINGING NETTLE capsules may help calm the cytokine storm. --------------------------------------------
. . . Nettle leaf extracts reduce inflammation, in part, by suppressing the release of inflammatory cytokines.
They do this by blocking a chemical inducer known as NF-KappaB, which alters gene expresion. This may be one explanation for the beneficial efffects this herb has exhibited in rheumatoid arthritis (Riehemann et al., 1999). . . .
. . . its ability to slow down the inflammatory cytokine response caused by endotoxins. . . .
For Lyme-related joint pain, Buhner recommends Nettles 1200mg/day.
I have found Nettles (I use organic powdered nettle leaves) to be fantastic for relief of my joint pain - including the wandering joint pain in my legs, arthritic hand pain, etc.

Manybites, I was clinically diagnosed with bart and didn't realize it could cause this type of reaction.
Keebler, I didn't have any ear protection but I didn't think it was that loud at the time. I have a neti pot I will try that. I have been planning on getting quercetin anyway so maybe I can pick some of that up.
I may try benadryl, I have been taking sudafed but it's not working very well.
