I thought that soy products should be avoided by those with low thyroid issues......nattokinase is made from fermented soy.....not sure if this is ok or not.

Lymetoo, thanks for your suggestion,.... the product I was thinking of using as a systemic enzyme has nattokinase and serrapeptase in it.
dmc, thanks for your response..... how long have you been using natto? If you don't mind my asking do you have low thyroid issues?
Canefan, did you try other systemic enzymes like natto before taking Boluoke? What improvements have you noticed with Boluoke?

I have read that fermenting food reduces or eliminates its goitrogenic properties (which are why they are supposed to be avoided for those with hypothyroid).
Since natto is fermented, I imagine that the nattokinase enzyme is fine for you.
Side note: Natto, the Japanese fermented food, is supposed to be healthy but an acquired taste. My boyfriend lived in Japan a for few years, and he says that his friends there joked that natto was so foul that even a dog would not eat it. Glad it makes such a useful enzyme!Posts: 227 | From Northern CA (bitten in Illinois) | Registered: Jan 2008

I'm hypothyroid and i've been taking high-dose nattokinase for 6 years.
My TSH tests are stable and correct.
I take enough nattokinase to prevent lower-leg symptoms, such as any spot sensation or twinge or feeling of spot soreness. If i try to lower my dose, i start getting lower-leg symptoms. (I have a couple of genes for bloot clots).
