i had to completely stop the nystatin.
i cut the dosage in half thinking maybe it was simply too strong.
i had the same reaction only milder. my chest felt like it was closing up and i was so short of breath i had to sit and gulp for air. this happened every time i took the half dose, so i finally stopped it.
was it a reaction or a herx? i don't know but again another one i can't take.
i don't know why he didn't give me dilfucan. i've taken that many times and had no reaction, well, except for the red fingers going away. not much of a herx.
man, what can i do for yeast. i'm now walking again every day for a mile and really really watching my diet.
anything else i can do.

Oil of oregano, capryllic acid, grapefruit seed extract, clove oil... There's tons of other stuff out there.
Good for you for getting the walking going again and watching your diet.

- YEA for YOU!!
Call your Dr and tell him about the reaction. Ask for Diflucan. Perfect opportunity.

I would make treating parasites at the top of your priority list.

My LLMD recommended FC-Cidal. Diflucan made me very sick. I was on it for a month. First 2 wks. were great and then 2nd 2 wks. hell that didn't get better for a year!
I think the diflucan made me very toxic. Now I know that it is b/c I can't detox. I have MTHFR (homozygous C677T), have KPU and also have HLA-DR genes that can't detox Lyme or mold.
Hey, good for you with the walking!! I have to start exercising!

I agree with Lymetoo. Ask your doctor for the diflucan.
I wonder why that wasn't prescribed in the first place, if you've taken it before with no problems? Especially since nystatin is poorly absorbed, and effects are mainly local. This means when taken by mouth, it will only treat yeast in the GI tract, whereas diflucan is a systemic antifungal.

Randi, if you cannot breathe you need to start on lower dose and take more after day 4 - otherwise you never can treat anything

You can treat the yeast in you mouth with hydrogen peroxide. Gargle it, and/or brush your tongue with it.
You can also add a teaspoon of bleach to three tablespoons of water and use that.
Make sure not to swallow the bleach. The H2O2 won't hurt you if you do ingest small amounts.
I've never heard of herxing on nystatin, but I suppose it could happen. Nystatin doesn't enter the bloodstream, so it'll only help with yeast in your digestive tract.
