Ive done Iv for years at my llmds office with a butterfly going in my arm somewhere. I now have a picc line inserted upper arm threaded to under clavicle into heart. Iare they the same? Same drugs, rocephin, zithro, I feel so different not in a good way, but I got older and you body changes.

The meds should work the same no matter where your IV is placed.
The PICC line is a better option for you because it can be used long term (many months).
The peripheral IVs placed in your doctors office must be replaced at least every 3days. That can be difficult to do.
Maybe you feel different because you have a different mix of infections or the infections are impacting you in a different way this time? I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
We shouldn't have to get older while we are sick. There should be some kind of pause button... we could hit restart when we get well again
