My 12 y/o started treatment about 3 weeks ago. He is having very bad headaches, which presumably are a herx reaction to the die off.
Any suggestions other than epsom salt bath for detox? He is too young for sauna at the gym. He is taking Nutrametrix OPC-3 plus his abx.

You can try apple pectin and lemon water. Apple cider vinegar baths help as well.
MY son is not a fan of lemon water so I make lemonade but with xylitol instead of sugar. He can't even tell the difference.
My son is 12 and in treatment as well. H/A are one of his main complaints when herxing. We also use kenrico detox foot pads and I swear they are helping.
You can read about them at the following links and purchase on amazon. We alternate between gold, blue and green pads.
I'm actually thinking of bringing my son for an acupuncture appt. IT was extremely helpful for me. I just need to make sure he would do okay with the needles.
Here is a link with some suggestions for detox with children.

I too get awful headaches as part of a herx.
Liver support is important, to provide the things the liver needs to make glutathione. Glutathione detoxifies the neurotoxins (nerve poisons) left behind by the dead Lyme bacteria.
The thing that seems to reduce headaches the best for me is systemic enzyme therapy.
