Hi, I recently increased treatment an added to Ketek (800mg) Minicycline (200mg) as well as FIR sauna and Cowden Protokoll. I started feeling like drunk, dizziness, vertigo but also joint stiffness and increased energy so it worked against something. I stopped all tretment 1.5 days ago but still have this dizziness. Did anyone experience something similar? Im a little worried because of ototoxicity, I dont want to damage my balance organ permanently.
Thanks for help.

Minocycline can cause dizziness (side effect) until your body adjusts to it. When I took it, I had the dizziness for about two weeks and then it went away.

You should let your doctor know. He/she may want to have you build up the dose gradually.

I also experienced the feeling of being drunk, or being unsteady on my feet, and dizziness the first time I took Minocycline.

I only took it every day for one month that time, and the effects lasted for the whole month.

Later I took it Monday-Thursday for 3 months and the dizziness only lasted for a few weeks.

Minocycline gave me vertigo (had to go off of it).

I say it's the mino also.

Make sure you are preventing yeast with a good diet and probiotics.

Yep. Mino, most likely.

LIVER SUPPORT can help offset ototoxicity.

It's vital to remember that lyme, untreated or undertreated, can also damage ears so please don't just stop treatment but change parts that may be most troublesome for you if your ears don't easily adapt.

I tried many times but could never safely tolerate mino. I kept falling from the balance effects. Zith was also very hard with the tinnitus and I had to stop that.

Whatever Rx or supplement combinations, LIVER SUPPORT is a MUST to help the ears.

Specifics and other suggestions here - with liver support about 3/4 of the way down:

Thanks to all. I also thought it was the mino but I was confused as it started 3 days after I first took mino. It is getting better now 2 days after stopping all abx.

Glad you are feeling better. I hope this is just a pause, though, and not a stop to treatment.

Don't stop. Just change methods, combinations or support tactics (hopefully, as your LLMD thinks best for you) -- but remain steadfast and persistent on a well planned path.

Good luck.

Joysie,

To be clear, you gradually increased by just 1/2 mg every four days? Is that .50 - with a decimal point in front?

Wow, impressive to take that kind of care but glad it worked

I'm not sure how to measure 1/2 mg. How did you do that? Isn't mino a capsule?

I restarted with ketek and doxy. I wonder if I could ad low dose of Mino to doxy/ketek combo. Im not really convinced to just take low doeses of Mino because of resistance of pathogens generally, I mean there are more than one in lymies...
I have lyme and bart for sure. dont know if babs also. took malarone for 10 days no herx not better not worse, so....?? But I think I react to artemisinin. bart is eating iron, maybe thats why artemisinin works. But all is so slow.

we have mino here as tablets and caps.

Keebler, no decimal there, sorry, I'm not that careful! 50 mg is correct.

I'm good at cutting up pills, but not that good.
