I'm on IV Doxycycline with Levaquin...
Levaquin, I've heard is the best ABX to fight Bartonella.
As far as any other treatment, I don't know.
I only use Levaquin to fight the Bart...

I know that you can't take NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen) with quinolones (like Levaquin)...

"Another subtlety is that certain antibiotic combinations seem to inhibit the action of levofloxacin, while others seem to be neutral. I advise against combining Levaquin with an erythromycin-like drug, as clinically such patients do poorly. On the other hand, combinations with cephalosporins, penicillins and tetracyclines are okay. Alternatives to levofloxacin include rifampin, gentamicin and possibly streptomycin.
"A very recent article suggests that prior use of quinine-like drugs including atovaquone (Mepron, Malarone) may render Levaquin less effective. Therefore, in a co-infected patient, treat the BLO before you address Babesia species."

Very informative.... I am in the process of researching whether or not that Mepron ruduces
the potency of Doxycyline and Levaquin. I see that in Dr.B's guidelines it says it does.
It really stinks because I'm trying to kill the Lyme,Bart,Babs, and Mycoplasma.
I am taking Mepron,Levaquin, and IV Doxy.... If its reducing the potency, that is bad.
Seems like I can't win... I'm tryin to kill the Lyme and Co's and all the meds are interacting..
Ughhhh..... Thanks for posting that, it will be useful for people like myself on these meds...
