So, I have 3 confirmed members of my family with this dreaded disease. Getting tired of all of the non believers.

Yes. Camped together, hiked together, outdoor cat (who knows what that thing carried into the house), soccer fields together and live in a tick endemic state.

I want to send them all a detailed email with all of the politics of lyme but then I say "why bother".

Actually, sending the email (which you can compose and save, and get back to at your leisure), would probably be a lot less STRESSFUL than answering dozens of questions for everyone in the family who asks about it.

Then you would know exactly what you said to everyone all -- at once.

I HOPE you are all being treated by an LLMD? Sending healing prayers.

I'm going to check that one out Tutu!

How about sending them the movie
"Under Our Skin"?

Here is the link to watch it for free online!

OH POO!!! It was there less than a month ago!!! Hope it's temporary. I'm sure it's on YouTube but I would have no idea what to search under.

Here is Part 1 of the Boston Chronicle video on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVPRWiukp_M

There are a number of parts to the complete program.

This is the same as the show that was at the http:kettmann link above. It explains the lyme disease controversy.

Tell them that Lyme is not just about Lyme and that our suspicions of doctors treating symptoms and never the cause is correct. This is so easy to see after researching the Lyme effects and the ripples that it leaves.

Definitely have them watch Under Our Skin.

Here is an official VA doc that the disbelievers can hopefully lend an ear to:
http://wolf.house.gov/uploads/Report_of_the_Virginia_Task_Force_on_Lyme_Disease_Final.pdf

In all honesty I find that people have a tough time grasping the concepts we have all learned. It is mind boggling how such conditions can persist at this day and age.

Out of the many people I have spoken to and warned, only one has given it the seriousness that it deserves. His wife on the other hand did not and got bit. Three other people that I forewarned also got bit as well.

None of them are as sick as I am NOW, but neither was I when I first got bit.

I gave Under Our Skin to family members and after letting them hold onto it for a couple of months I asked for it back b/c I figured if they couldn't get around to watching it in that amount of time that they wouldn't.

God forbid they miss "Dancing With the Stars" or "Bachelor" or "Bachelorette"!

It scares most people. They don't want to believe it. It's easier for them to think we are all a bunch of hypochondriacs or we want them to join our misery loves company club. It's their problem. You tried (been there with my family too--denial).
