now known as Genova Diagnostics in North Carolina.

Anyone know what test is recommended for parasites, yeast, etc. and cost?

You can order your own test at www.directlabs.com

Some of our good LLMD's in NY state cannot order these kinds of parasite tests from specialty labs, you have to order them directly for yourself. It is a weird state law...

Anyways, my LLMD recommended the "Microbial Ecology Profile" test kit by Metametrix. It cost $268 on this Direct Labs website.

They use DNA analysis to test for bacteria, fungi/yeast, and parasites. It was a thorough analysis.

I had a "Comprehensive Stool Analysis" through Genova just a couple years ago (when my GI problems started). It seemed much more basic. Cost is $264 on the Direct labs website.

Metametrix picked up some abnormalities that Genova missed.

Here is a link to the direct lab website listing for the GI tests, scroll down and you will see the 2 tests that I've told you about:

Thanks.

Looks like I cannot do the test right now. Instructions say stay off abx for 3 days prior. Since I am taking Rifampin, I cannot skip the abx.
