What do you do when you feel you just can't continue with treatment? Not sure if its the mepron talking but I'm feeling really depressed.
The continuous muscle spasms in my hips and lower back are too much to handle. I upped my magnesium, soaked in epsom salts, put on my lidoderm patches, took my neurontin, drank my lemon water and I'm still in pain!
Sitting here at 2:30 am while everyone here is sleeping, knowing I have to be up in 4hrs for work is just so awful.
I've been teary all day and the slightest thing makes me cry. Feeling like all these treatments make things worse, but none of them make me better

Oh gosh. I don't know what to say except "I'm sorry," and "hang in there."
Yes, it's the Mepron. I was in so much pain and full-on suicidal during my first year on Mepron. I could barely walk, my hips hurt so much.
Babesia is the Dementor of pathogens. It steals all your happiness and your will to live.
Take a few days off treatment if you need to. Some people say when they do that, the depression lets up.
For me, it was due to herxing. I toughed it out and made incredible progress in my first year of treatment. I would never want to do it again, but I look back and I'm glad I stuck with it.
Better days are ahead.
Don't expect too much of yourself in the early months/years of treatment. Watch funny movies, read magazines, lie in the tub. Whatever makes you feel better.
One of my Lyme friends took up photography because all she had to do was push a button.

Boxermom did the pain resolve? I am currently on mepron, zithromax and bicillin.
Did you find anything that helped the pain?

Wow. You are on a heavy combo, but a great one.
It took nearly a year for my pain to resolve. I'd been toughing out undiagnosed Lyme and co's for so long, it didn't even occur to me to treat the pain.
I just lay around on ice packs. And did gentle yoga every morning. I always felt better after some movement.
Now I'm doing pool aerobics, which I love. Jumping around in the water is the best thing to get the lymphatics moving. And you can work out as hard or as little as you want.
