In other words, does this mean we will never see the values we saw before, ever again?
We were under 20. Took some toxic stuff, then went al teast to upper 40's. This was two months after the stuff so don't know how high it really went.
Eight months later we're at 35 ALT, 34 AST.
Male child, age 10, 82 pounds.
Rewrote hoping to reorganise thoughts-
What does this profile indicate for our future, especially if we choose no supplements.
Thanks,

Children have the amazing ability to heal. Please do not lose hope.
I'm not sure what your lab's normal range is for ALT and AST but 35 is well within normal range according to my lab's reference.
Sounds like it has only been 2 months since his toxic exposure so it may take more time to bring the liver function levels back down to his prior "normal".
Hospitals use NAC to help with accidental Tylenol overdose/toxicity. This supplement can help the liver heal.

Sammy,
It's been 8 months, and blood work was never done until month two. As you are a nurse, with my worrying about encephalitis and toxicities to the brain due to liver failure, do you think that could be valid.
He's now more hyper and nervous. Always on the go.
I had taken him to the ER maybe three weeks after it happened. They did not draw blood just looked at him.
His enzymes are usually 19/20.
Where can I get hospital grade NAC?
How much would you think for an 82 pounder.
Is it too late to try it, or does it have to be done immediately for liver healing?
Thanks,
sammy

Now that I have overloaded you with links to read, you can purchase NAC over the counter. The WHO article will tell you that there are numerous good and reliable formulations available. I personally like one that is sustained release. It gives your body a couple hours to use the dose instead of 30min. Most OTC NAC is wasted because your body can only absorb a little during 30min.
My favorite brand is Jarrow sustained release NAC. You can find it on iherb and vitacost.

I will read sammy, thanks.
But, is it too after the fact, or can it still lower enzymes?
Thanks-
