Nasal staph causes 20 % of sinus problems . The remaining 80 % are generally FUNGAL infections . What is a safe way to get rid of them ? Any way to get rid of them without ABX ?

I know from years past that a few LLMDs were treating it with an antibiotic applied in a gel form directly into the nose.

I can't remember what it was called or who was doing it.

hmmm I wonder if that could be what's causing my sinus issues... Is there a test for this?

Neti pot with xylitol, salt, and baking soda can do it sometimes. There is a nasal spray abx that can help as well, sounds like you're trying to avoid that, though. Another thing that can help is NCR (neuro cranial restructuring) so that nasal passages have proper size and shape, so they drain properly. Without proper drainage, any solution may just be temporary.

Xylitol did little to help me w/ sinus problems.

I did some investigating and went to amazon and put "sinus infection " in the search bar . Boy did I find a selection of alternatives for sinus problems. Also , many of them had BEAUCOUP reviews - many positive.

One thing I am ordering is Sinu Orega, by North American Spice Co . It is a sinus spray that has some spices , and one of those spices is oregano , which is purported to kill some varities of staph in clinical studies. It was well reviewed. There is also a sinus irrigation kit that was unusual looking , and it had MANY MANY reviews .

I am having sinus problems since killing parasites . The die off from the parasite herbs and ivermectin makes me feel awful and as though I am breathing MOLD!! The irony is that I did not not think it was likely for parasites to be a factor in this illness . To be truthful, there are moments I wonder if lyme disease is ACTUALLY just PARASITE DISEASE .

In my case , I think I am allergic to the die off from the dead parasites , and I think that their dying carcasses are toxic . Does this sound nutty ? YES! But finding " seaweed looking " junk and hundreds of seed looking items in the debris passing out confirms it for me . After eliminating them I have a sinus headache and soreness in my chest like asthma. I am pretty sure they are causing allergic reaction.

The only treatment I've seen for treating staph in the nose is oral or topical antibiotics.

One of the best topicals is called Altabax, you would apply it using a cotton swab twice daily for a couple months. This is how long it will take for you to completely eradicate the staph if you are a carrier. If you have a simple infection it will only take a few days of treatment with Altabax.

If you think that it is a fungal infection then you may need some RX oral antifungals like diflucan or itraconazole.

If you chose to use the neti pot make sure that you use distilled water and not tap water. Tap water is not clean enough to instill into your nasal passages. You want to get rid of pathogens and irritants, not introduce new infection.

Another way of approaching this is to take Serrapeptase, which reduces fibrin and thins the mucous.
This way the sinuses can drain and heal.

There is mold and bacteria everywhere.
A healthy body can resist them.

.
Chronic sinus problems are common among people with Lyme.
I think this may be due to increased fibrin in the body, which is an immune response to chronic infection.

Systemic enzymes like Serrapeptase reduce fibrin and inflammation.
You can google for serrapeptase sinus to find information.

Serrapeptase at iHerb.com

I have chronic sinuses inflammation for 5 years now. It was my first symptom when I got sick and it looks like it;s the last one to go. I think in my case it's Babesia, anyway this is how it test energetically for me.

Dr. K recommends Sanum products for chronic staph. sinus infections: Pleo Not(Penicillinum chrysogenum), then followed by Pleo Nig (Aspergillus niger).

For a natural option my ND suggested "Super Good Stuff" nasal wash. It's an herbal nasal spray, but feels pretty strong when i use it.

ann, remember the staph can also be elsewhere besides the nasal cavity. So it might be good to think of total body tx with nasal tx.

I had sinus problems for years. I had a nasal swab done and was told I am a staph carrier. I tried GSE in a nasal spray. I used it for a long time and now I have no sinus issues.

If I start feeling congested I just use the spray until the problem clears up. GSE nasal spray worked wonderful for me!!

My husband's LLMD prescribed a compounded Gentamycin nasal spray which helped him with a persistent nasal infection that was causing sores in his nose. There is a Gentamycin ointment too (not compounded); not sure if it can be applied in the nose.

Thank you all for suggestions ! I think my chest infections are partially related to sinus problems . I have been using colloidal silvr nasal spray for a few days and see improvement . I am going to try GSE spray or the oregano ( sinu orega spray ) as a 2X daily routine . Both are antifungal.
