So glad to be posting here; this forum has been a huge help over the past year for me.
I've searched the forums, but haven't found an answer; apologies if this has been given already!
Here's my question: how do you know when you're "cured"?
Funny question, I know: surely the answer is "when you feel good again," right? But I Lyme is so tricky and I've had it so often over the years that I wonder.
I had my most serious bout of Lyme yet earlier this yearexhaustion, fatigue, headaches, brain fog, you all know how it goes. It took several months and two different antibiotic courses (doxy and cefuroxime) but now I'm feeling totally back to normal again.
But I just wonder... can I trust this? Can it possibly be that easy? I read so many stories of people who have had such a hard time with Lyme for so many years, and I just wonderam I just one of the lucky few, or am I missing something?

when you C4a and C3a is down when your CD57 is clearly over 120, when your WBC is at least 6 to 7, when your circulating immune complexes are within the range.

I like Jupiter's list. I'd add low-enough nagalase, neuropeptides in proper ranges for MSH, ADH, MMP9 (feel like there's a couple more I'm forgetting), thyroid/adrenal blood/saliva tests show good results, blood pressure in normal range, pulse at 60 or below.

If you can get thru high doses (no herxing) of flagyl or tindamax, you are good to go!

If you are symptom-free for a number of months, that's a good sign. My doc made me stay on meds for 5 months past the symptom-free point.
It worked for me. I completed my lyme treatment over 7 years ago and I am still symptom free and enjoying my life.

I'm wondering the same thing..
I'm off abx, no worse, but still tired. Wondering how you tell the difference between menopause, yeast and Lyme!

beths... Definitely do the diet and treat as if you have yeast. See if your remaining symptoms leave.

Riverlight- how many months have you been symtpom free?
My doctor thinks that some of my symptoms are actually that of a middle aged woman. How do you really know?
My oldest son is symptom free, showing babesia in labs and CD57 is 102. All other labs are normal. He hasn't done the C4a or C3a.
I ponder this same question as how do you know when you are ready.
Many tests listed above are unknown to me like MSH, ADH, MMP9. What is a circulating immune complex test?
He leaves for college in one week so I am throwing extra tindamax at him and also more OLE and GSE on top of his regular Lyme and babesia treatment. I am looking for any herxing.
He will soon go to one week a month on abx. This is a way to check I guess if one is ready. If it is too soon, the one week should bring on a herx, maybe not the first month but down the road. Once he is successful at that for 6 months, he will try going off abx. He was in this process when he herxed in June on the 5th month of one week a month of abx. Bummer!
Our doctor thought his CD57 could hang out in the 100's for quite some time before climbing.
I would love to have an updated ILADS statement on the topic of ending treatment. I would also like a document on what people are doing post treatment to stay healthy as far as supplements. What is needed right after ending treatment and what is needed life long?
