Hi, I've been reading q & a forums for a week now, but I'm a newbie who, by providence, stumbled onto this site during one of the nights of insomnia. After about 7 years of trying to get answers about my health, I was iagnosed w/ Lyme, parasites, fibro, etc. about 3 1/2 mos. ago. Thrush came on last week, and when I awoke this morning, I can feel (and see) that it's worse and going down my throat, possibly into my esophagus.
Taking cefdinir 300 mg twice day, doxycycline 100mg two caps twice day, flagyl 500 mg one tab three times day. On this regime for two months, then off for two weeks due to huge herx. Back on it for a week now. Additionally, started candaclear last week when I saw my llmd and mentioned the thrush on my tongue. Lots of supplements and some other scripts. I have some oddities that cause my llmd a bit more tweaking of meds & supplements. I had a gastric bypass in 2002. Thyroid is sublclinical hypothyroidism. Back problems, lots of neuropathy, migraines somewhat controlled. I'm seeing my neuro in a couple of weeks due to raging balance, stumbling, leg movements that llmd wants checked out for possible ms/Parkinson's/lupus/something-else-icky. I think that 's enough background for now.
Here are my questions: 1. Herxing has me almost bedridden. Have maybe 1-3 okay hours when I can be up with my family. Want to kill off the Lyme as fast as possible, so I agreed to go back on the antbx last week, read most of the post re: herx. Any other suggestions? 2. Anyone else on here w/ gastric bypass and have any hints or experiences to guide me in this journey? 3. Been teaching for 26 yrs and have had to go on fmla right now. Feel guilty for leaving in the middle of the year, and worried about lack of income for my family. Any coping ideas on that front? (Hands are so swollen and painful that typing this has taken eternity--hyperbole there.) 4. Thrush seems to be spreading. Trying all the remedies I learned from taking care of my mother for a decade, plus using the candaclear that llmd had me get last week. How serious is thrush, beyond now hurting to swallow, no taste, no appetite? Suggestions? 5. Due to thyroid issues that arose, gained about 35 pounds of my 100 pound loss back this past year and a half. Put on armour thyroid for about 3 month, changed to synthroid 100 mg two weeks ago. Anyone else have this issue or suggestions? Lack of appetite and some nausea have curtailed appetite right now, so, looking at a bit of the silver lining might be losing some this weight again. (Just my gallows humor for dealing with this.)
Sorry for the length, but I'm hoping for help, friends who are walking this valley & understand, and hope. Thanks in advance, y'all.
