Wellness Oral Glutathione works well for me - more convenient than IV. Some people will feel worse on IV as the toxins are now being mobilized. Need to be on a binder to help pull them out, or exercise, or sauna, massage, etc.

Yes, I ALWAYS do a lot of exercise right after I get one. I love to exercise and my IV day is the only time I feel well enough to do it.

When I had an IV push, I felt really, really bad for the first 15-30 minutes, but then I felt really good for several hours. When I first got it, I didn't feel all there--just kind of spacey. I shook for a while, and then I started feeling better.
My pain was less and mental clarity was improved. Later that night, I did have more pain around my liver, though. (Liver pain is a common thing for me).

IV takes about 30 minutes really makes me feel better. Lasts about 3 days. Liver soreness goes away as does joint aches and pains. I get 3 to 4 per month.
Right after I feel very calm. A major benefit I think I get is, it helps aid the liver and kidneys remove toxins. I just do not use enough binders throughout the day (work full time so supplement spacing is an issue) and this seems to really help.
All the Best, MattH

Matt - How much does it cost you for 3 to 4 times a month?
It sounds like this only makes people feel better temporarily. Is it also boosting the immune system?
Don't know if I want to fork out the bucks if it is only for temporary relief.

Per Dr. H, from the 2011 Toronto Lyme Conference, glut "opens up the detox pathways (is an anti-oxidant)." Some of his patients get better with glutathione alone.
So, rather than boosting the immune system, what it is doing is opening up the detox pathways. It is enabling your body to get rid of the toxins (poisons from dying germs).
This is a very important function. If you could detoxify well all the time, you would feel as well as you do after using glutathione.
Here is another note taken from Dr. H's talk at the 2010 Conference:
Take-home message: DETOXIFY YOUR LYME PATIENTS!
It does NOT matter what antibiotic you give people, they will NOT get better without detoxification
For Herxheimer reactions: 2 Alka-Selzer Gold (no aluminum) in 8 ounces of water with lemon or lime followed by 6-8 capsules of glutathione or 1500 mg of oral liposomal glutathione.
70% will feel better in hours
On the topic of water: Dilution is the solution to pollution. This suggests that in order to help our bodies detoxify, we must drink more water
The above is taken from the Scott Forsgren site.
So, I hope all of this shows you how important detoxifying is to feeling better while treating lyme disease.
If you can't detoxify, you will actually feel worse and worse as your treatment goes on. I have seen it with a friend. Sensitivities to food, meds, and everything can occur as the toxins build up and overwhelm the body. The body begins seeing everything as an enemy. It is imperative that you eliminate these toxins.
So, be willing to spend money to help your body detoxify. Consider it part of lyme treatment just like probiotics, supplements, etc.
It is not just the meds that are important.
The glut is performing an important role.
