- Sorry you are having this reaction. It's very common, actually. Minocycline is known for this.
A few folks manage it just fine but many experience vertigo and the resultant nausea.
Be sure to take in the middle of a non-acid, not too spicy meal. But avoid dairy and also avoid supplements at that same time as they can lessen the drugs effectiveness if take at that same time.
GINGER CAPSULES )a tea can help but you need the therapeutic dose from capsules, too),
B-6, and LIVER SUPPORT are vital, too.
If not, though, you just may need to switch. I tried several times and just could not tolerate it. I hope the support methods help.
LIVER SUPPORT LINKS & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.
Some KIDNEY support detail, too.
------------
As minocycline is one of many drugs that are ototoxic, be sure you avoid others that may be as well if they can be avoided. :Liver support may help offset ototoxicity. Details here:

My vertigo was horrible on minocycline. It was like riding a wave of my whole body feeling heavy and barely able to function. This went on for a week. I started to have horrible mood swings like you would get on steroids (but without any extra energy like you would on those).
After the first week the skin on my face felt thick and after a few days then my face started to swell. My doc said I was allergic and to stop immediately. I'm glad I did. My neck then started swelling up. It took two weeks to get back to where I was before the minocycline.
When I did some research, I learned that minocycline effects the nervous system and is very different from how it's absorbed compared to doxycycline.
I was drinking fresh ginger juice and taking tons of it when I did minocycline. It didn't make any difference for me with the balance and disorientation issues. I threw up less, but that's about it.
I think it depends how severely you're reacting to the minocycline. Try the ginger, but monitor your symptoms carefully.
When my neck started swelling it was about 10 hours after I took my last dose.

How long have you been taking Mino? When I took it, I had pretty intense dizziness in the beginning. It went away after about two weeks.
Are you eating something before you take it? This can help with the nausea. You need to avoid having any dairy, iron, or magnesium within two hours of taking it or it will not be absorbed properly.

The best vertigo cure is meclizine or non drowsy dramamine.(forgive the spelling as I am not feeling well) My Lyme plus Babs has caused horrific vertigo and the ENT suggested this. If you take meclizine and still experience vertigo a ent can give a 2 mg dose of valium which relaxes the ear canal. Meclizine comes in generic form at the grocery store.

I couldn't take mino due to vertigo. I started out really dizzy after a couple of days on it. Unfortunately, I was hospitalized for vertigo before, so I wasn't willing to wait and see if the dizziness would go away. IMO, vertigo is worse than any herx (my LLNP agreed).
