Hi everyone...I just found out from my llmd earlier that my urea breath test shows me positive for h pylori. He wants to put me on two antibiotics and a PPI for a course of treatment for the h pylori bacteria.
I literally feel like I have a stomach flu 24/7. I have not had an appetite naturally in so long. I was supposed to treat for possible h pylori several months ago but dr put it off because of my having just recently gotten over a severe c diff case at the time. I am on tons of probiotics now and feel fairly protected against another case of c diff.
I am just hoping the h pylori treatment eases these awful GI symptoms. Has anyone else here been diagnosed w h pylori concurrently with lyme and did it improve any of yr symptoms? Thanks in advance for any imput. Jess.

An alternative to the antibiotics is Mastic Gum. Apparently, it kills h. pylori pretty well.

I was diagnosed with H. Pylori right before my Lyme diagnosis and it made my symptoms so much worse. I have severe tingling and numbness from this. I don't know why but I do. And now I think it is coming back. I am being tested nest week, but was I the ER yesterday for thesevere stomach and pelvic cramping again and the ER can't test for it. So I have to see my dr. To do this. I know that's what it is, I am just hoping the bloodwork shows positive. Hang in there, it gets better but the treatment was awful for me. It caused a huge herx and at the time I had no clue about Lyme so I was really scared.

Once you have h. pylori, the bloodwork will always be positive.
The best test is the breath test, or an endoscopy where they take samples of tissues and the fluid in the stomach and upper small intestine and stain for h. pylori.
But the breath test is the least invasive best test for h. pylori.
