Good for blood vessel health. I know that if I do not take it, my A-fib acts up.

I won't do without it.

I take the Ubiquinol form and I make my husband take it too.

I just bought CQ10 yesterday. 100mg and man it's expensive for only 30ct. I need at least 300mg?

Refusing the statins rx'ed for discovery of coronary heary disease recently. I'll need to go searching for larger quanity and dosages.

I don't mind paying more esp if it helps lower my numbers and benefits.

OK, I took CoQ10 for years ... for most of that time I used the Ubiquinone - the standard form.

Then I read about how much more effective UBIQUINOL is, because it is already converted for the body's use (unlike Ubiquinone).

Since Ubiquinol is in readily useable form, studies show bloodstream levels are 8X higher than the same mg dose of Ubiquinone (the cheaper form).

I really didn't notice any difference when I changed sources ... HOWEVER ..

In mid-spring of this year, I decided that I just couldn't afford CoQ10 anymore, and would only continue with the Bs, C and E that I have been taking for decades.

But all summer long I have felt SO TIRED that I haven't had much energy for ANYTHING!

I'd wash a daily sinkful of dishes, and drive to the grocery every 2-3 days, and this seemed to be all I could handle. The thought of carrying a 15 lb bag of laundry down a flight of stairs, seemed a huge effort - and so, it piled up.

Generally, all of my housework, went to H*ll. Now I admit, I was never one to be obsessive about this, but I was never a real slob either! It was not like me to stare at a rug that needs vacuuming, and ignore it for days. I used to work a full day at a law office, come home to cook a full dinner, then some evenings run up and down the stairs to do 2-3 loads of wash. Now I couldn't imagine where my energy had gone!

Recently, I noticed that my gums were getting worse. This was the reason I had decided to try CoQ10 in the first place. In the past week, I kept running into articles about how CoQ10 boosts mitochondrial activity, and increases ENERGY, and the light bulb finally went on!

I realized that since I have some heart issues (non-restrictive congenital defects), I really should be taking CoQ10!

So two days ago I bit the bullet, went to Whole Foods Market and laid out $20.49 for 30 capsules of Bluebonnet 50mg Ubiquinol, and took the first one after dinner.

Yesterday, I actually made it out of the house early enough to have lunch with a friend. When I got home I was somehow inspired to scrub all the wall tiles, and the floor, in my tiny kitchen! (I'm so proud of myself!)

Today I am determined to tackle that laundry.

This seems an amazing response in a very short time - so I guess my body was really starved for CoQ10. I also noticed that, although I pulled a very rare "all-nighter" 3 nights ago, and have only been averaging about 4-5 hours of sleep per night for weeks, I actually slept for 9 and 10 hours these past 2 nights!

I guess I didn't appreciate what I had, until I lost it! I look forward to feeling more and more like my "old self" - and the $20 a month investment will seem cheap by comparison! [Smile]

Since the young convert Ubiquinone to usable form with little problem, and older bodies do not, IMHO it is more economical to buy the usable form.

Ubiquinol is said to be 8 times more effective than Ubiquinone, so you will NOT need the "high mg dose" that you might expect if you are using ubiquinone.

Sure enough the brand I bought is the ubiquinone.

Figures. Thanks for the info. I go shopping for the good stuff.

Everything seems to be so difficult. I realized a long time ago, that I'm in charge of my own health.

But I'm so exhausted and researching all this stuff is so overwhelming. I'm sitting here crying over CQ10?

Is it ever going to end?

Pam

Awww... there's no need to cry. You can still take the ubiquinone, and it won't be wasted money! You may just want to take more of it than you had planned to do. Then the next time you buy, get the other one.

Sorry to make you feel bad. You are light years ahead of so many other Lyme victims, who have no idea what's wrong, or how to pursue an effective treatment. Take heart! Better days will come.

I've taken many different ones. I didn't have much $$$ this summer, so I bought Swanson's 200mg CoQ10. Seems to work just fine for me. (cheap)

I've also bought Vitacost Ubiquinol and it was fine too.
