Hi Everyone,
I just got my test results back from Igenex. I have SO MANY symptoms of bartonella and babs, I was sure something would come up.
Nope, not even on the FISH.
I'm already positive for Lyme (borellia b).
Do most of the symptoms for bart and babs crossover into Lyme?
Some of my symptoms really seem distinctive for bart and babs.
Thanks

Yes, there are a lot of crossover symptoms. Best way is to assume you have both Babs and Bart and do a challenge test with ABX to gauge reaction and improvements
Hopefully you have a good Rx plan to cover Mepron for Babs. Go after this one first since it seems to be the toughest to beat down.
Mepron needs to be taken with either Zith or Biaxin to stay effective, and it takes 4 weeks to build up to the right level in your body.
After about 4 or 5 weeks if you feel the worse ever and even start getting new symptoms you'll know its Babs

I am in the same boat. Negative for Babs and Bart, with some of the symptoms.
Burning at the bottom of the feet and burning and numb hands at night. Night sweats that come and go. Stabbing pain behind cheek bones and in brain and shortness of breath.

"do a challenge test with ABX"
I just started antibiotics in July and the babs and bart test was in September. Lyme came out glowingly positive, but not the other two.
Is there another lab (other than Igenex) I should try?
Thanks.

How are you supposed to get the antibiotics for a "challenge test"? I believe I have babs and bart too, but they've never shown up on blood tests.
I would need mepron, correct? I have some biaxin, but how to get mepron to do a test?
I have no doc to rx it. Even my old llmd wouldn't rx it without test results.

Twice - not sure about babs or bart, but maybe try teasel root for suspected lyme and then test.

Bart and babs hide, just like lyme. I think diagnosis is a clinical one for most people. If you show symptoms of both, Burrascano says to focus on bart first (see his guidelines). I wouldn't worry about a blood test unless you really want to do IV meds, or your LLMD says you need them.
