My doctor wants me to take these two meds next. I've never heard of amantedine but he says it needs to be taken with azithromycin. I'm not sure why. Have any of you taken this combination? I think he wants me to continue the flagyl too. Thanks for any experiences you can share.

Amantidine is an antiviral that is used to make the antibiotics penetrate deeper, similarly to how Plaquinil is used. I am on it with Biaxin. I side plus of it, is it really helps with pain.
from my lame research it seems to make drugs work better--- it is used for MS and Parkinsons, and read some mention of it being used for Fibromyalgia. Vets are using it on dogs for pain.
One note of caution though... don't just stop it after you have been on it a while as it effects dopamine and you may crash.
