Regular doc concerned about this and wants me to take lisinopril along with some baby aspirin. Just what I needed.....More pills to swallow UGH
Currently on Mepron with Zith but LLMD wants me to switch to Biaxin due to tinitus. Also taking Ceftin.
Any one else in a similar boat? I know some are probably thinking there is usually more trouble with hypo rather than hyper, But thats the way it often goes for me

Yes. Untreated hypertension is a silent killer. Consistently high bp cannot be left untreated.
There are natural methods of doing it (although I have been unable to lower mine without a prescription). Diet and weight control, sodium resriction, regular exercise. There are herbs out there too. But for me, despite great effort, my resting pulse is 100 without an rx giving my bp of 140/90, so I went the prescription route.

I never had high BP in my life until I got hit with all my neuro Lyme symptoms, then up it went. Once was 160/90 - that was about the worst I knew of. Often just elevated enough to get the doc's attention, but not enough that they thought I needed to take meds for it. I am not overweight, was running 3-5 times weekly, no family history, etc. It had always run on the low side up until I got sick with LD.
Fast forward 3 years later - treating for 3 years. Now it is most often in the normal range. I've seen the biggest change with a more normal BP since I started IV Rocephin 4 months ago. However, I am still dealing with the majority of my neuro symptoms....still hoping I will gain some ground there.
I have ALWAYS had a low resting pulse, most likely due to the running. It can range now from the low 40's - 60's. I have no idea, at this point, what's due to Lyme and what's due to being active (even though I'm sick, I can still run). I just don't know. Anyway, my experience initially with Lyme sent my BP up, not down.
Good luck. TS

When I was 15 I started having hypertension. At that point we didn't know I had Lyme. Finally when I was 16 or so she started me on medication. I was on Bystolic, a pill that sells for about $5 A PILL! However, I got free samples so the whole time I was on it, I never had to buy it!
It wasn't until I had been on nutritional IVs for about 2 months maybe that I was able to go off. That was about 8 months into treatment. And if I go to long without an IV, it goes back up a little.
But I have so much heart disease in my family, I'll probably battle it all my life. My dad died of V-fib, my maternal Grandpa has had about 4 heart attacks and many stints and caths. My maternal Grandma has hypertension.
My paternal Grandmother was told to never have any kids because she had such a weak heart....she went on to have 8 kids in 10 years. I think she died of a heart attack in her sleep, not sure.
I get it literally from every direction possible!! So for me its hard to know for sure if it is Lyme induced. My dr has informally dx me with POTS and she suspects that was what was going on all along...who knows!
Sorry I got so long winded. I would suggest for you to try to get nutritional IVs. I think it is glutothyone that helps stablize my BP. But its better for you than medications. However, you do need to do something about it!

I was so fit when I cam down with Lyme. I ran ultras and rode 12-hour bike races. BP was 110 ove something. Resting heart rate was in the 40s. I got Lyme, and in three months I would see 140 or 150. Resting heart rate bumped up to 65-70.
At the time I was on Mepron and Zith.
I am not back to normal now, but I have not been able to train like i used to for the last three years. Still the pressure is no longer high.
To deal with it in the short term, I used Benicar. It is not the most effective BP med, but the Marshall Protocol (MP)folks use it as the foundation of treatment, and I did not need to lower the BP a lot.
So I figured what the hell I'll check it out.
No need to debate the merits of the MP or VitD, folks.

I have needed Lisinipril and another med for High Blood pressure just since 2 yrs ago. Just put on Bactrim to hit the Bart and can't mix Lisinopril with Bactrim. Dangerous - something about holding too much potassium in body with this combo?
But it doesn't sound like you have to worry about Bactrim.
Good luck with this mess we are all in!
