I really don't understand why now I am having so many pain issues. I was doing really well on the combo I was on, mepron, zith, and bicillin, but now in the fourth month I am feeling awful.
At first I thought it could be related to the fish oil I began taking, but I eliminated that last week and initially I felt better, but now I'm in awful pain again.
Aside from the back pain and burning pain in my hips and outer thighs I am also having headaches, which I did not previously have.
I am taking magnesium and drinking alot of lemon water and detox tea, but it has not helped. Really so frustrating Posts: 1750 | From United States | Registered: Dec 2011

Hi Ellen. I am so sorry to hear this. Lyme is like peeling an onion...every time you get another layer deeper the little buggers come out and die and make you feel bad... The good news is their dying. It's very discouraging after you have felt pretty good to crash. Are you keeping a journal to see if there is a pattern of when you feel bad, and for how long? I have found this to be helpful to get me through these crashes... On the first page of a datebook where all the months are together on one page, I black out the bad days, circle the so-so days and leave the good days untouched. At first it was mostly blacked out. But then I noticed a pattern and I could prep for my crashes which for me is the end of one month beginning of the next. It really helped me to know I can get through this ...it's only 5/6 days! Recently it's been 3 days.
But I wonder from your other post too...if you might try to avoid lemons for a while? I say this because I have a citrus allergy that has made me achy. I can do it here and there...but if I take it every day... I get achy.
Its frustrating to not be able to do the things that are "good" for everyone else. And it is trial and error. Perhaps try just plain water for a while. See if you feel better
I hope you do start feeling better.

Thanks kudzusliiper! It is really frustrating, but I like your idea of journaling. It did seem like it was happening at 4wks of time for awhile, but now I really don't know.
Before I could stop my meds for a few days and feel better, but now I seem to stop them and I don't feel any better at all.
Just when you think you find something that works, lemons, fish oil, it seems like it all back fires and you really don't know if it's doing any good at all.
I'm thinking of consulting a naturopath as I worry I am not making enough progress and probably have alot of other areas that need to be addressed.
Unfortunately I feel like my LLNP really only addresses the lyme, but nothing else.
It's one yr ago this month that I began to feel sick, so that is making me depressed as well. Never thought a yr later I'd still feel awful..

Ellen.....we all understand how you feel as far as backsliding goes...it is the nature of the "beast", unfortunately. I did not begin to feel human again until the one and one half year mark, backsliding many times before that.
I believe I know who your practioner is, and she is VERY through...treating all co-infections as well as Lyme. May I suggest to you that you talk over your concerns regarding treatment directly with her? She is very open minded and will put your fears to rest. She follows Burrascano's protocol and knows what the proper path is to follow.
Know that one day...all of this will be just a bad dream!

An interesting thing about these delayed allergens (not the ones that you react to immediately) is at first they can make you feel great! almost euphoric. that is why we really like the foods that make us sick and they are addicting.
Nancy said it right...it does get better. there will be back slides... and may have nothing to do with lemons or fish oil...it could just be lyme and co. and even allergic reactions could be a part of the lyme
I know i couldn't do vitimin d3 when I was real sick...but now it has been helping me.
Hang in. I hope we can help when you are feeling down. I know LN as helped me through tough times.
