Hello. I am at a loss right now after getting off the phone with my LLMD. Was off all abx for 4 months and finally liver ALT and AST went down. At the 4 month mark Lyme come back so strong like day 1 which was almost 3 years ago. Dr. put me on abx for 6 weeks and has again made me come off due to liver and I am feeling better with Lyme but now took me off right when Bart is starting to really bother me again. His attitude is that he only has 1 other patient like me and they are off abx and treating with liver support (which I am) and things to support the immune system. I have gotten much better over the last few years due to abx, herbs I tried do very little. I am not out of the woods by far but do a have some of my life back and now without the Drs. support on any future treatment, I feel all alone and can only now look for a new doctor asap. I have gotten a few names from here, but not sure where I'll go. I hate to say all my time and money are going to be wasted. This Dr. even admits to only having 1 patient whose liver enzymes go up on abx ( I find that hard to believe) and instead of trying me on a different abx like one for Bart to see if they go down, he refuses. I have made so much progress and right at 2 years I turned for the better just like a lot of people told me and now I have no Dr. I was so sick with Lyme 7 weeks ago and I can only guess that it won't be long before I am again. This Dr. obviously doesn't know what to do and avoided lots of questions on the phone appointment. I don't think my ALT was ever above 150 and AST was never above 70. I have tried everything and spent so much and even have a sauna, I know it's either Bart or lots of toxins not moving because I herx and feel better every time and am having less and less pain with each abx I take but now I have no one to help me.

So, were you being treated for bart? This is known to cause abnormal liver enzymes.

I was treated for Bart over a year ago and plateaued on Zithro and Rifampin after 7 months. Never was treated for it again.

Maybe this is a disguised blessing. If your doctor can't/won't treat you, isn't it time to move on to another that's a better fit?
You may actually save money by not giving it to this doc who can't help you. I know you feel abandoned right now--I sure would in this situation.
It would have been less stressful for you if you had ended the relationship, but, really, it sounds as though you've out grown this doc.
Maybe look for a new, better LLMD, and in the meantime while you're waiting for the appointment, work on healing your liver and gut. Or maybe take some herbs to keep the infections at bay until you get in to see a new, much-better-for-you doctor.

Hubby constantly had a problem with elevated liver enzymes. He switched to one of the best LLMDs. No more problem. What meds do you take for liver? PM me if you'd like

Buy a rife machine. It's a one-time cost, you can treat yourself, you don't have to beg the doctor for pills.
I was on antibiotics for 3 years, then another 2 years on scrounged half-doses. Then i bought my GB4000 rife machine and have been treating myself for 2 1/2 years. I'm doing fine! No heavy drugs!
