I am taking 150 mg clindamycin and 291 Quinine Sulfate.

I am upping the clindamycin up to every five hours now. This afternoon, I have felt awful. Head, ears, eyes, everything from the neck up feels like it could blow up at any time.

Laid down for a bit and felt hot, took my temp and it was 102. Got up and took two Advils and the fever is down to 99.9.

What can this be?

I meant to add that I took the clindamycin rather slow. I didn't start out every five hours. The prescriptions says to take it every five hours.

I always like to start out slow.

It could be a babesia herx... or you have the flu.

Hope it lets up soon. If it's a herx, you may want to briefly STOP the meds.

It doesn't feel like the flu.
Just so tired I can't hardly do anything. Weak, just so weak.

No upset stomach or anything like that.

Well, true influenza doesn't usually involve stomach issues.

But I CAN tell you that babesia herxes made me weak as a kitten.

Call the LLMD in the morning if you are still this sick. At least this shows that your immune system is doing well!

I went to work today and felt terrible all day.

I looked as bad as I felt.

Eyes all swollen....looked like I had been on a crying jag.

Got home and took my temp. It was 101.5.

I have called my doctor and told him about it. Of course Dr. C. you have to leave a message.

Maybe he will call me back tomorrow.

If I am like this tomorrow, I will not go to work. I am trying to get FMLA. Don't know if I will get it or not. We are allowed one sick day per month and they are really getting mean about it.

ABSOLUTELY NO UNAUTHORIZED ABSCENCES!

As pitiful as my job is, I need it for all of my prescriptions.

Husband is 70, disbled and retired. No money to amount to anything there.

If your temp goes up I would get it checked out.

Not everything is a flare/herx...I learned that the hard way.

You could be spreading the flu around. Stay home and give your body a chance to recover.

Yes I am staying home.

I do have a question. The fever is not as bad today as it has been. It has peaked to 102 at night. Advil seems to bring it under control.

I did call the doctor. He just said to back off the antibiotics for a day or two until it quietens down. I think he thinks it may be a herx.

I have been reading. I also have extremely bad frontal headaches and extreme pain behind the eyes. I read a post that said it sounds like babesia.

I read another post and it said it sounds like Bart.

Which one or could it be either?

Today, other than a touch of a headache/eye pain, I feel pretty good. Will restart my medication, but lower in quantity.

Babesia treatment got rid of my headaches. I used to have terrible migraines.

Glad you are feeling better!!
