Does anyone take anything? If so what? The anxiety is making me miserable! Maybe if that goes away I can make some headway on beating these diseases???

I just tried Ativan and it levels things out. Unfortunately, substances like this (benzos)should only be used very sparingly, and it is not recommended for long-term use.
For supplements I think many will say magnesium is very important. Also, some amino acids may be of benefit, such as taurine and theanine.
Other than that, I have heard that most anxiety issues actually originate from the gut, and that treating whatever gastro issues you may have will help. This is what I am working on now.

Jessie-it is scary I know, but sometimes you do need a benzo to help you through. I used to be a bit of a party girl before I got sick and would take benzos recreationally. I was never addicted but I was terribly reluctant to take anything for a long time because of my past. Now I take like half of a 2mg valium a day (a super low dose, due to my very low weight) and it makes all the difference in the world for me with some of my anxiety and weird neuro symptoms.
Benzos are not a cure all but when used properly they can be really helpful. Jess.

CD57, I wish I could find it now! I read so many different sources everyday I can't keep them all straight.
Anyway, the premise goes something like this: The gut is a major player in immune function, as it is responsible for breaking down and ejecting the toxins we get bombarded with (esp. during a herx). If your gut is not working properly, this can mean that neurotoxins are put back into circulation, rather than leaving. This can also mean that there is a problem with vitamin and mineral absorption, making healing a problem.
All of this adds up to toxicity, which can keep you on edge. The more toxins you have circulating, the more anxiety you will have (your body is fighting itself).
If I do come across a good source, I'll post it up here.

this is great VV...please post. I have been freaking out that all my neurocog and neuropsych symptoms are due to an untreatable brain infection.....so its comforting to read that the bugs causing the issues to manifest in brain are actually in gut!

Paxil, an SSRI antidepressant, worked like a miracle drug for me for anxiety and panic. It was GONE, with no side-effects and no dopey feeling.
