Did anyone see Watch What Happens Live last night? Yolanda (Housewives of Beverly Hills) was on and said she had chronic lyme. She described the brain fog. I hope she can bring some light to the public's eye about lyme and company. Maybe we all should post suggestions to Bravo's website?

I watched, and I was so excited! I had been wondering which symptoms were most problematic for her, and I liked to hear more of her story. Love her!

She tweets everyday on twitter about her progress. Must be nice to have access to the best medical care possible.

On another note, I just noticed her co star Kyle Richards tweeted today that she has "fibromyalgia." Interesting.

Wow, she has had lyme for 2 yrs and is seeing good improvement only 53 days into treatment. I wish I had responded to treatment like that! I guess she can probably afford the best care and supportive measures too though.

It would be great if she would disclose exactly what treatment she's undergoing to see improvement that quickly. Most of us take years. I'm still waiting after 7 months of abx.
Would be nice if she brought a famous face to this horrific disease and began speaking up about it.

She mentioned on Andy Cohen "Watch What Happens Live" that she has a port and infuses abx 4 x a day.
Probably Rocephin. She most likely has an LLMD, and isn't receiving any better care than anyone seeing a top LLMD has. I don't want to seem skeptical, but I would be very surprised if this tx puts her in remission.

Wow, 4x a day? I would think that's Clindamycin or some such. I wonder if her doc is Dr J.
May have coinfections too I wonder if her doc is looking at that.
Gael, why are you skeptical about her treatment, because of parasites? I did notice she grew up on a farm.....

After being in the loop on this disease for so many years, it seems a lot of people can often feel better while on IV abx, but it's when they stop that they often crash and fall back.
I don't wish bad things for her, but if she has the typical ups and downs that most of us do, then it may bring better awareness to the truth of this disastrous disease.

CD57,
I am skeptical because she has chronic Lyme and said she has had it for a couple of yrs. The infections have had plenty of time to disseminate into all of the organs. I haven't seen too many people here on lymenet who are chronic get well from abx.
Also I do suspect that she has parasites that probably won't be addressed by her LLMD unless he is aware of this co-infection. Also given the fact as you have pointed out that she grew up on a farm.
Maybe by some miracle the IV will work. I only wish her and anyone else with this horrific disease well.

I am skeptical because I don't think we ever get rid of lyme once it's chronic. I think my doc has taken this stance as well. I think people can knock it back, or even knock it into remission, but that's it, IMO. I wish Yolanda and everyone here the best though.
I feel like if I can get rid of babs and keep the brain fog at bay, the rest is all livable (I can handle it).

I agree with Catgirl. If I could get rid of: fevers/fatigue/brain fog, I could handle the rest.
