Here I go again. For the past 5 years usually around Christmas/New Years I get this crazy chest pain, which I refer to as my scary chest pain.

I have all types of chest pain, but this is the type that has landed me in the hospital for a day or two of testing with everything perfectly normal.

The second time it happened they put me on Prilosec and it went away. I have resumed Prilosec even though I am basically on an acidic free food diet due to interstitial cystitis.

I always blamed it on stress, but this time the pain has been back for about a week-coming a month earlier and I really don't think I am stressed like I am around Christmas.

It is a tightness that is triggered by different things. Quite often is radiates across the back/upper shoulders and sometimes down arms. At present dead center of sternum.

Examples of triggers- I was perfectly fine at work all day a week ago and the moment I got in my car and started driving down the road it begin. It worsened walking into a store to shop.

The other day while getting out of my car walking across the parking lot and while shopping it continued. It was cold that morning. My panicky feeling doesn't make matters worse. That went away and reappeared hours later. Determined not to let it stop me I cleaned my house and did not drop dead of a heart attack.

Today at work, it began around 10am and it still here 4 hours later.

I am thinking it has to be some crazy lyme issue that rears its ugly head this time of year. I have been diagnosed with costochondritis and chest wall pain in the past and this feeling is not that type of pain.

I wonder if anyone else experiences this seasonal chest pain as well. It is driving me insane.

Yes, I do. I used to be a runner and what I describe it as is the feeling I get when I run very hard in cold air. Mine is like severe lung pain no matter what the weather. It started in August along with heart racing.
