I have heard the same thing...that only Rifampin
lowers the effectiveness of birth control...my
college health practitioner gave a birth control
information session and specifically said that.
However, I haven't done any more research and don't
have personal experience.

I would think there is likely more than one antibiotic that can affect birth control pills. I recommend asking your gyno or pharmacist about the ones you are taking.
