Raintree, one of the most respectable herbal shops is going out of business, because the FDA forbade importing herbs.

Very bad news for Buhner followers, and anyone consuming cats claw, and all wonderful preparations. They were cheap, efficient, and offered highest quality products, while respecting the rainforest. Buhner recommended them.

Bad news for herbal users. These herbs helped saving me many times. I bought andrographis, cats claw, astragalus, cats claw, gervao, and many other stuff with them. Sad that in the end, only chemical products will be available (for higher prices and probably, less effectiveness).

I'm copy-pasting their letter:

------
We are sadden to inform you that Raintree Nutrition is going out of business. As many of you are aware, we have been prohibited by the FDA of importing our bulk plant materials in from the Amazon to manufacture our products over the last year.

Between the additional high costs in meeting new GMP standards, the falling US dollar affecting our import prices, and battling the FDA over our website while still providing our customers with important factual information about our products, we simply cannot go on any longer.

Hopefully by early next year, the Tropical Plant Database will be moved back onto the Raintree website and I will maintain the website for the wealth of information it has always provided for the last 16 years.

I am gratified that we have done an excellent job in providing this service and encouraging competition because now many of the rainforest plants we've created markets for are available from other suppliers and companies.

Once Raintree stops selling products, we will post our formulas on the website product pages so our customers can make their own formulas if they care to.

The FDA may be able to stop us from selling products but they cannot stop us from providing factual information free of charge.

If feasible, when I redesign the Raintree website, I will install message boards or discussion forums so you can finally share your experiences and results with these plants and formulas (that has been silenced by the FDA for all these years).

So while the Raintree manufactured formulas might disappear, their legacy will live on and people around the world will continue to benefit from these incredible rainforest plants.

Indeed, I was shocked and deeply saddened to get this same email news. A very sad day. I also wonder if this will apply to other herbs, other doctors, other sites.

It's great that Dr. Taylor may continue to help with education but if we can't buy the herbs, and we can't grow most of those from the Amazon, then making formulas will be moot.

I had thought if such legal restrictions were put in force that, at least, licensed naturopathic doctors and other herbalists would still be able to get them.

I have more to learn about this turn of events so if anyone has more detail, please share.

As it is, at least now I can put all my December money toward stocking up (to the meager extent my bank balance is able).

Be sure to get Dr. Leslie Taylor's book at the Rain-Tree site. It is excellent.

If there may be other sources for herbs in the future, this book will prove invaluable.

There may be other data-base publications, too.

Ridiculous.

I had trouble getting my hands on their Myco Formula because they said it had been confiscated (the bulk shipment).

This was 6 months ago. Apparently it's been going on for awhile.

I just ordered some herbs from the following company, also recommended by Stephen Buhner.

http://www.woodlandessence.com/herbal.htm

I hope they will be able to stay in business. They were really prompt in processing my order.

This is as ridiculous as when we were blocked from buying prescriptions from outside the country (link below). The pharmaceutical companies are putting the pressure on, as well as buying out herbal companies. It's all about money. If you don't like it, write your congresspeople. Seriously, write. Our congresspeople don't know what we want.

So sad. I've use their products countless times, they are of the highest quality.

And so scary to think what this means for the future of our other supplements. I know that I take many on a daily basis to help me feel better and to augment my treatment plan.

Yes, the book is excellent!

Really, Raintree literally saved my life at least once. I mean, while I couldn't find any help in the beginning.

You know what I mean, just going from doctor to doctor, after a tick bite and bullseye rash, considered cured by 2 weeks doxy, then no treatment given.

I had no idea about the controversy with lyme. When I started reading and my health going down, down, I realized I was going to be left to die without treatment.

I bought Buhner's book (I was one of the first on his protocol in 2006), and then used Raintree, after I bought herbs in bulk, all by myself.

Later I found alternative help, but waiting list was long, so I had to wait to see professional help.

I think without Buhner's herbs and the wonderful quality herbs of Raintree, I wouldn't be here, as I could stand up only few minutes a day, and felt my whole body being eaten up by critters, total internal consumption. It is one of the worst feelings ever, to feel infection taking up your whole body, all cells, brain, eyes, skin, tummy, liver, kidney.

Maybe it was not only infection, but I had that feeling of being consumed alive, from within.

Cats claw, andrographis, astragalus, gervao, all bought at Raintree saved me. I do believe so. I bought some malaria herbs too, helpful too against babesia.

I wonder for new sufferers, who need to buy stuff on their own like I did, or leave themselves to die until they either find help...

No more rain forest herbs available?? That is crazy.

Dr. K. says he is not using abx anymore, if I understood well. He said, he sees no one getting healed from lyme with abx only. No one (look into betterhealthguy site).

So, if we are cut from herbs... And supplements. And homeopathy. And rife or other machines? What will be left?

Well, borrelia nosodes (homeopathic) were also available here in Europe when I fell sick with lyme and they did help me.

Now, no more available either, at least, not easy to find.

It's not only pharma pressure.

Medical doctors are also lobbying, so that less and less people SELF TREAT.

I think it is self treatment and alternative treatments that are targetted.

Without self treatment, I would be certainly still sick. Only self treatment can make you healthy, in my opinion, long term.

Self treatment includes choosing food, clothes, vitamins and minarals, herbs, tinctures, heavy metal detox tretament, buying machines that help healing, buying non-chemical remedies like homeopathics, etc.

I do that all by self testing. And so far, so good. Lyme is fully dormant for the last 3.5 years.

Practioners did help me in the beginning, but we are the only ones that can continue the path of maintenance.

We call that all democracy. I wonder, which democracy? What is good in democracy, if that's it: we're controlled by small groups of people, who decide what is good for us?

Oh my goodness this is sickening. This is devastating news. I cannot believe that the noose is finally cutting us off. So very sad.

If this is the start.... we can be certain it's going to continue until all of our wonderful herbal avenues are closed. Terrifying.

For those thinking of stocking up of the dry herbs but with limited funds, you might consider contacting me first, in that I have a number of their herbs that I really do not see using in the future. I don't have any fancy extracts, just the bulk powders. I bought them probably 3 years ago, I should warn, so they may not be super fresh.

Drug giant Bayer just bought Schiff vitamins for more than $1 billion.

the company also owns One-A-Day.

Pfizer owns Centrum. But it also owns Alacer Corp. -- the largest U.S. producer of vitamin C products.

Merck owns Seven Seas Fish Oils and Cebion vitamins.

Yeah, I got the e-mail, too. I was very saddened by this. I also take an herb called kratom for pain which is under pressure from the gov't.

Please sign the kratom petition to keep it legal -
http://keepkratomlegal.org/

It's getting more & more fascistic every day.

This website sells some of the ethnobotanicals & rainforest herbs -
http://www.ktbotanicals.com/

You may be able to get some of the Raintree herbs here. They also used to have extensive info about each herb but the FDA made them remove all medical & health info from the pages selling herbs. It's a shame since it was very informative.

It's a big battle. I don't know if we will win. I knew the law in CA about labeling GMOs was not going to pass. We are about 10-20 years too late on all of this stuff.

It seems there have been plans going on to outlaw all of these things long ago. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so. Alot of the stuff going on is sneaky & behind the scenes.

Over time, I think "they" are hoping that all of this knowledge of herbs & alternative remedies will come to pass & we will just rely on everything that the gov't tells us to do. If we are not well enough to work & pay taxes - I guess they just want us to die...

Why else would healthcare be tied to paying taxes? The IRS is the agency that is supposed to be "managing" the new US healthcare system... How crazy is that?

The media is not following any of these stories about the raids on natural foods & health products. Most of the average citizens don't know. It seems eventually, only the wealthy will have access to all of these things.

We will not be able to get herbs or supplements unless we get a prescription from a doctor... How many MDs know anything about herbs or supplements?

Randi,

Dr. K's been ALSO using Buhner's herbs in tincture form for quite many years now, on top of Cowd's tinctures he had used before. Plus the rizols, frozen garlic, etc.

Yes, many are from rain forest herbs! I wonder how his products will be affected too.

He was never too convinced on abx for lyme, as far as I know. Abx only came when no alternative treatment showed up as being as good. And abx, as far as I know, were only used SHORT term with most people.

At least, the people I saw following his treatment here in Europe never use abx at first ground, only as a secondary alternative. And again, short term.

They use loads of herbs, supplements, homeopathy, microcurrent, photonic machines, bee products, tapping.

From all these above, we may be only left with tapping = Self massage!

I think that what dr. K. is meaning is that recently, the disease picture of patients is getting worse and worse.

Thinking that merely killing will solve most chronic lyme cases is naive. It's just not happening anymore, by what he says.

The problem is not exactly killing, but it is how to make the immune system work again, to keep all infections under control.

for example, electrosmog is playing a greater roll, more and more, to keep everyone sick.

that is what I understood, at least. But I never considered he used killing as first line in treatment.

Buhner's herbs do MUCH MORE than only killing, they do imunomodulation, for example.

The good thing about herbs is that there are so many to choose from different cultures & approaches. It's sad when a provider is harrassed into giving up. There are still Chinese, Indian, Native American & European traditions... & probably others I neglected to mention.

There are still more choices & providers. We have to try to support them as best as we can. Also - try to be active to keep these things free & legal.

I'm glad that Dr. T of Raintree will be leaving all of her research up on the internet. It's a great deal of work & a fantastic reference for Amazon herbs.

I've been hearing about other places going under due to harrassment or inability to get shipments from other countries through customs. I'm not sure if it will help but we do have to try to do what we can to keep these things from being taken away.

It's absurd that marijuana has been prohibited for so long. Usually, these things happen for very ignorant & greedy reasons. Things can be changed, though. We have to keep trying & stay viligent.

There's a big difference between "bath salts" & chammomile, raw milk or vitamin C. It seems that the authorities are trying to create a link between these things. We just have to keep our eyes open & try to do what we can to keep the natural herbs & alternative remedies legal.

I was in the supermarket today & saw a huge jar of MSG. Someone could poison themselves with that... Why is that still legal? If people are so bent on getting high, making all this stuff illegal isn't going to stop them. They will just use other things that are available...

I saw a documentary about a drug called "krokadile" that people make in Russia. It's realy bad news but they can make it from stuff you buy at the drugstore.

I remember when they took Tryptophan off the market because there was a bad batch. They eventually let people sell it again. Hopefully, this won't be a permanent thing about the harrassment of people selling herbs.

The same type of thing is happening up here in Canada.

Some products are meeting the challenge of our crazy new regulations.

Grapefruit Seed Extract for example is now being sold as "The Liquid with A and Zinc contains GSE" (in small print)
Grapefruit Seed extract is listed as a non medicinal ingredient.

A pharmacy known for it's holistic products had $16 000 worth of Nattokinase seized last month and they are left holding the bill.

Can't get many things non that I could buy before.

Seriously, I'm learning to wild craft medicinal plants from the forest around me.

It is very frightening to see what is happening with Natural Health and Homeopathic medicines suppliers. FDA and Health Canada seem to tighten their requirements and many companies are not capable to carry on.

This is another example. Ergopathics are closing too. They had the biggest choice of radionics nosodes. I received this message this week.

For over thirteen years Ergopathic Resources has proudly supported the Alternative and Complementary Medical Community with an ever-growing selection of testing vials. Our products have contributed to the success of thousands of private practices and to the well-being of countless individual patients and clients.
However, despite our contributions to so many, and the detriment of not a single one, we now must inform you that our services must come to an end on Christmas Eve of this year. The U.S. Food And Drug Administration does not have the capacity to understand our service, let alone offer any provision that might allow us to continue. This leaves us no choice but to shut our doors.
We will do our best to fill any final requests you may have for our products until we close on December 24, 2012.

Hi Anuta, that's bad news again.

Ergopathics were a sort of alternative where homeopathics were not available (or taken off the market). There can't be any reason for taking ergopathic remedies off, as they are really only water!!

There is a war being raged against natural, supplements and alternative solutions, that literally help billions of people. Most people do take teas and plants for healing!

Some, like myself, and I'm sure there are many more, have their lives saved by these natural alternatives, at least once.

Wild crafting could be a way for the ones who have access to wild herbs. But rainforest herbs, these are unique. Chinese preparations, also unique. There aren't substitutes for each plant, as each is formed by hundreds or THOUSANDS of chemical components.

I can't imagine if I had to fight another babesial infection, without any rainforest or Chinese herbs! Or Indian herbs! What else is left than drugs, that, as we all know, are limited for many infections.

Just try to build any lyme protocol with own plants, or wildcrafting them. It is IMPOSSIBLE.

I wonder who will be able to get off chronic lyme WITOUT taking supplements, herbs, homeopathics, using certain machines, eating clean food, non GMO, not being constantly electrosmogged etc. Who?

When I first fell sick with lyme in 2006, I had much more access to herbs and alternatives than today. I have no doubt. People that come look for help today, have much more difficulty in finding substances, despite globalization. Or because of globalization!

There is another pharmacy that shut down their website, the ONLY one I knew with access to many nosodes in Belgium.

They produced their own substances, as smaller homeopathic companies were bought by one single big one, that threw away many sources (so no more borrelia nosodes, for example, and many many more gone). No big profits = to the bin with them.

I wonder why their website is down. They did any preparation I asked them for, if they had the source. And for very cheap price. I just had to wait a few hours and pick these. I will call them to ask what's going on, next time I will go to Brussels.

My homeopathic doctor from there is though founding a small society in Germany. They decided to collect plants themselves to preserve what they can, because of the monopoly of bigger homeopathic providers. It's basically a gardening project. They are looking for funding, to help them.

Much is paid out of pocket of a few doctors and interested people.

I'm glad smaller groups are trying to counter act bigger forces, but I wonder for how long these will be able to keep on going, before someone comes after them...

--------
I built so far a reasonable library of homeopathic preparations and I only copy these, to keep the source with me. It means, I can have my own ergopathics 'forever', as long as I keep the sources, and these are still active.

Hahneman's homeopathic remedies were still active after 100 years! It seems sugar pellets survive electrosmog much better than water solutions.

But herbs, these are like food, we can't just copy them. We need the real stuff, all their chemical compounds. Like supplements.

Before everyone were so enthusiastic about globalization! I start to hate it. I got a letter from Kodex, asking for me, to help funding THEIR activities in Switzerland!!!

No kidding. They have their office here and are sending letters saying they propose a program for the youth, and need funding!!!

For the energetic medicine - maybe we can just use a vial with the name written on it or on a piece of paper inside? Just a guess. I often thought about that in regards to homeopathy. I'm sorry to hear about Ergopathic Resources... I didn't use their produces but still. It's not good.

It's really scary what is happening while everyone is either worried about the future or being entertained to death... Most people aren't noticing the limitations being imposed these days. I don't know if there is anything we can do to stop it.

Alot of this is going on in small increments by a well planned & focused agenda. It's been in the works for a long time. It didn't just start this year. Codex has been in the works for a while now.

Sparkle, these are 'name' remedies. I am not sure they work, some people say yes, some other no.

In my opinion, depending on the dilution (higher dilutions, where there is NOTHING from the original substance) may be fine. But only temporarily.

But lower dilutions, like some of the ones used in photon protocol or for acute infections (Sanum), name remedies cannot be identical, as they DO contain chemical components (even if diluted).

Ergopathics had only frequency imprint. No chemicals.

Homeopathics ALWAYS start from real substance, that is diluted on and on. But the first tincture is a normal herbal tincture or something alike.
----------------

Yes, it is a well planned agenda, I totally agree. The products are not taken at once from us, just in slower doses, so that we just wait.

You all know the story of the frog in water, right?

Everytime they attack one health branch, take certain products away, but not all.

But they don't end there. Their agenda has clear objectives, they know that if all is forbidden at once, people will react.

They are doing like our lyme treatment, slow and steady. They are sure to win the race.

Exactly like the frog story, we are being slowly cooked alive.

fortunately, I don't have lyme anymore, nor my daughter. But it took us time to treat, heal, and to find alternatives.

Literally hundreds of different substances, vitamins, herbs, homeopathics, different machines, essences, whatever I thought or felt it was necessary.

It's scary to know that about half of stuff I used for treatment, are NOT available anymore for legal sale, or are considered dangerous machines /treatments.

Brussels (or anyone) - I remember they enacted this Codex law in the EU &/or UK... I think it was in 2008...?

Are any supplements/herbs available in Europe? Which ones? Do you need a prescription to get herbs or supplements? Can people in Europe order things over the internet from companies that have these things?

I haven't been to Europe in a while... Just wondering what's going on over there.
