I have Neuro Lyme, but have been told by others that Rocephrin injections in your bottom can not cross the blood brain barrier.
This what my LLMD has prescribed because the nurses at his office have not been able to get into my veins to do the IVs.
So, the question is: Does anyone know if the injections do or do not cross the blood brain barrier?!
I don't want to waste time and money...

IM ceftriaxone is well absorbed and does for sure cross the blood brain barrier!
Look at the chart that compares the average plasma concentrations of the 1g IV and the 1g IM doses. They are almost exactly the same at 4, 6, 8, and 12 hrs! This is good news for you
You will not be wasting your money. Rocephin is very helpful for treating Lyme.
