Topic: My digestion moves way too fast. Suggestions on how to slow it down?

Dinner comes out first thing in the morning (sorry if tmi). Like randibear's other thread, I see undigested food. And I realize it's because my body shuttles it out so fast it doesn't have time to properly break it down and digest it. It's also another reason why I am probably underweight.
I was taking Biogest by Thorne for months. Didn't do much at all. I stopped that and have just switched recently to a HCL basic supp. This seems a little better for me. (For some reason, different enzyme supps are not always good for me. For instance, I get constipated with Wobenzyme.....and constipation is a very rare thing for me to ever get.) I don't think my body likes supplement enzymes.
I would love to slow down my digestion and actually absorb some of the nutrients from the good, expensive, organic food I put into my body. Thanks.

Fiber regulates digestive system movement. Fats slow things down in the stomach, but speed things up elsewhere (because of bile stimulation).
Do you still have your gallbladder? Many who have had theirs taken out have trouble with rapid transit.
Also, if there is inflammation in the colon, that can speed up transit because the inflammation interferes with absorption of the water in the gut.
Cholestyramine can help slow down rapid transit from too much bile.
Coconut can help with inflammation in the colon.
I assume you take probiotics? Some people do better with some strains vs. others, so you may need to experiment with different brands.
Perhaps a Naturopathic practitioner could help you with this issue?

Yes, I still have my gallbladder.
Interesting comment about inflammation in the colon interferes with absorption of water in the gut. I deal with dehydration issues (chronic excessive thirst, dry mouth, skin, etc.)
I do consume a lot of fiber, but maybe I should try adding more. I also take microsilica at bedtime as a binder. Maybe I'll start adding apple pectin at lunchtime. I've heard mixed things about cholestyramine that I'd rather stick with the natural things. Wish I could take chlorella, but it's too high in sulfur.

I'm having blood drawn tomorrow for that. It's been a while.
Thyroid does regulate metabolism so maybe it is playing a role. Thanks for the thought.

salt/c can speed up your motility. I have the opposite problem. The digestive enzymes that have worked well for me are Super Digestaway by Soloray.
They contain ox bile an pancreatin along with aloe, papaya, bromelain etc. Also I found that Betaine HCL is better than plain HCL. Hope you find and answer.
Just a thought. Maybe some of the antiparasitics are increasing motility.
