Hi All-

Still dealing with IC like symptoms.

The onset started in Aug which I thought was an UTI. Then I got DX'ed with cervisitis and recieved a shot of rocpehin which helped.

I did shots of rocpehin from aug-dec. And Although they took teh edge off it didnt make it go away. I think bc I started and stopped them so many time I created resistence.

I have had so many tests done. Ultrasounds catscans you name it.

All I know is that all my symptoms go away when I have a cold or the flu this has happened twice so far so I know its infectious.

I am doing the IC diet. Also trying Desert Harvest Aloe Vera along with Cystoprotex and Prelief. Nothing is helping.

MY LLMD is now goig after parasites while I stay on MINO, Rifiampin, Flagyl and Ceftin...

I am at a loss here...any input would greatly be appercitaed.

Protomyxzoa causes it. Mine got better when I started ivermectin. The low fat vegan diet is the most important thing to keep the PR under control. I don't know what diet you on but it is not working and if it has arginine and fat, you are probably stimulating the growth of PR, not suppressing it.

Protomyxzoa is incurable. A huge percentage of us are testing positive for it. If you are on any other diet, it is not helping you. We are stuck with this for life. There is no going back to the good old days of eating whatever you like. The sooner you get this, the sooner you recover.

Have you had a hormone panel done? Sometimes a shift in hormones can cause these symptoms as well.

I have it too and have been reading at IC boards how to rebuild mucousal lining . If you take colostrum and glucosamine/ chondroitin, you will be able to literally rebuild lining on gut tract , respiratory tract , and urinary tract .

Many women said their IC symptoms disappeared with glucosamine/ chondroitin alone .

I just went to Wal Mart and bought Spring Valley glucosamine / chondroitin chews which taste ok and are easer to take than huge pills . I also ordered colostrum chewables from amazon .
They taste good to me.

If you google : interstitial cystitis and glucosamine chondrotin OR
interstitial cystitis bovine colostrum , you will find encouraging results with these . It will not be instant , but I betwe will see a big difference in 2 months.
You might also check out "PRELIEF " acid reducer - to be taken with acid foods.

If you are in pain take 1/3 tsp baking soda in water 3 times a day to make your system less acid .

Some people also swear by marshmallow root . It coats mucousal lining . Good luck!

PS I started having frequent UTIs after menopause . There are vaginal suppositories with VIT E that women swear by for keeping vaginal tissue moist and less prone to infection. They are made by Carlson , and women say thaey use a half of one each day with great results, a real boon for those who do not want to do hormones .

Dry vaginal tissue ( atrophied it is called ) is vulnerable to infection. You can read about this at amazon - Carlson vaginal suppositories VIT E .

I did start taking Cystoprotex which has great reviews on Amazon for IC I started taking it on monday. I also rub VIT E on my vagnial tissues. All I know is it goes away with a cold so its not true IC. I have tried Diet elmination and it doesnt seem to make a difference.
