I studied this. It sounds great in theory. It's just that all the studies I could find are done by the same person who also sells the product. So, it's a little suspicious in my mind. It's good to have multiple studies done by several non affiliated parties...
I don't know if regular cirtus pectin or apple pectin can do the same things. The doctor or scientist who studied this claims it's only the "modified" citrus that works but I don't know.
I bought some from Swanson & I've been taking it on & off. I think I'll continue with it when I get more into doing a heavy metal detox. It seems to be a good binder but I don't know if it does what they say it does.

Regular citrus pectin does not enter the bloodstream, therefore it can only draw metals from the gut (which can still be helpful, obviously). I actually think this is one of the reasons that lemons are so popular in detoxing (for it's pectin).
The whole point of modified citrus pectin is that the molecules are shortened in a way that makes them permeable in the stomach and can therefore work systemically.

It was appealing to me since I still have 2 mercury amalgams. It's not supposed to chelate mercury & mobilize it. It's just a binder.
Tastes yucky... I have to mix it with some juice.
