This disease is sucking any tiny ounce of energy I have and I'm really scared.

The fatigue is so deep it hurts. It's like I spent several days walking all day long. My feet throb.

Has anyone somehow found anything for energy?

I've been doing acupuncture but money is spreading thin.

Thanks

Find an LLMD and treat Lyme and the co-infections. There is no quick fix. Treat the infections, and your energy will come back.

The product discussed in the following thread works very well. I have been using another version of it from iherb called stress response and it is working very well to stop the fatigue.

Cherylsue, I have an Llmd and have been treating a while. I just want to find something to help in the meantime.

Lululymemom, thanks for the link! I appreciate it!

Ask your LLMD to treat your adrenals. Much of my fatigue was coming from my adrenals and is slowly getting much better with treatment.

When I started treating my adrenals, I had so much more energy! I went from being awake only a few hours a day to a lot more normal sleeping pattern.

I use Licorice Plus, Adrenal Complex, and LDN.

Have you considered treating for parasites? They are tremendously overlooked by docs. My energy improved as soon as I started treating.

Wow, it is great there are so many supplements that help with fatigue. That has been the worst. I take Chlorella
2,000 mg, 2 times a day. It really increases my energy.

Babesia and protomyxzoa both cause crushing fatigue so treating them will help you. You can't expect a supplement to help if the infection has taken over.

Try treating parasites with ivermectin (PR is a blood parasite) and the low fat vegan diet and see if your energy improves.

Supplements that boost energy are NADH, CoQ10 and carnitine. The Chinese herb, Jiaogulan, is an adaptogen which calms you when you are stressed and boosts energy when you need to work. Athletes use it and report more energy without feeling jittery - it give you better focus.

It also helps prevent platelet aggragation so it is good for hypercoaguation, which reduces oxygen and makes you tired.

With Lyme affecting thyroid, adrenals and hormones, it sucks the life out of you.

All these have to be treated while you are treating Lyme plus coinfections. Also, you don't always feel really energetic right away.

It took me a year for my adrenals to really respond to supplements and I still struggle with getting the thyroid levels right.

As you get your infection load down and your immune system up, this does get better.

Meanwhile, I would suggest an integrative doctor along with your LLMD to treat you. They are usually better at treating adrenals, thyroid and hormones.

Hang in there, it will get better. It just takes time.

Rhodiola rosea. Canefan suggested it, along with others here. Depending on how lyme has affected your adrenals, this has been a big help for me. I take a whole pill, most here suggest only taking a couple drops out of the pill.

Long time ago, when I didn't know what ailed me, I survived on flower pollen tablets for energy.

My debilitating fatigue changed once I started treating for parasites. Unbelieveable difference. I have great energy now that lasts all day long.

Canefans link is in my post at the top of this thread. It explains the rhodiola brand that he used. FYI Buhner recommends Rhodiola for the treatment of Bartonella and that was why i began using it.

Tammy,

How long did it take on parasite treatment to feel results? Which methods did you use to treat?

VV - I noticed some improvements almost right away. Then had some ups and down, as is expected (but still always better than before I started). After a few months of continued treatment (about 2-3 months) my energy started to soar and has remained high. This alone has given me such a huge lift in my spirit.

I'm still treating parasites, as it is a long-term commitment.

Tammy,

Thanks!

What condition were you in before treating for parasites? What kind of symptoms did you have?

Good quesion, VV. I too wonder what symptoms improve from parasite treatment? i have used parastroy here and there but haven't been able to stick with it along with abx.

My biggest issues that keep me down are malaise and a weak, heavy feeling body.

I am thinking of trying a tiny amount of ivermectin in between abx every week or every other week and see what happens.

VV - My worst symptoms were buzzing, tingling, vibrations, etc. Also terrible fatigue and exhaustion. Aching muscles and joints, especially the neck. I had many other symptoms, but these were the worst.

I never really had any GI complaints. That's why it was particularly surprising to me that I had such a massive parasite infection. I'm still passing parasites, and I'm 7 months into it.

gigimac - go for it. I believe without a doubt that parasites are a huge piece of the puzzle for all of us which chronic Lyme and cos. I don't think we can get well without treating parasites, imo.

I've had profound fatigue and get exhausted with very little exertion.

Been diagnosed & treated for lyme & babesia for a year now. Taking abx for the lyme and it's definitely helping in the cognitive department. Taking 2 tabs malarone twice a day for the babesia. Also taking pulsed Tindamax, Bio-challenge BIND as well as lumbrokinase.

Thyroid function ok. Adrenal supplements did not help, so were stopped.

When you say parasites, are there other parasites that you can test for besides babs and protomyxzoa?

Bitten - there are no reliable tests for parasites. Testing is even more unreliable than Lyme testing. Most who have been tested always showed negative test results, in spite of having parasitic infections.

If you have a doc that does ART testing or some other type of muscle testing, that tends to be more definitive.

Out of most of the folks I know, they just started by using anti-parasitic herbs and salt/c to see what happens. From what I've seen, most folks who treat for parasites are seeing improvements. Check out some of the other parasite threads on Lymenet.

Wishing you well.

Thanks Tammy,

I've been doing salt/c (3-8g a day) for 3 months but I don't see any particular effect from it.

I have black walnut hull and artemesia annua which I did for a week and seemed to get a herx from.
I think I will go back on these soon and try to get at least a month out of it.

VV - I would work with a proven product that includes all the necessary anti-parasitic herbs...like Humaworm or Parastroy.

For me, I don't seem much when doing just salt/c. Nor do I see much when doing just anti-parasitic herbs. It's the combination of taking them together that works wonders.

btw -one month is not nearly enough. You need to give it a dedicated long-term effort.
