Hi everyone. I am looking for ideas to discuss with llmd and PCP. I have been off of all abx since December 1rst. I had been off since Late october but had to do a short course of flagyl/cipro for a UC flare. I originally took the break from abx just to see, but then my gut made me want to stay off a little longer. I have continued taking GSE.

I am happy to say everything seems under control (knock on wood). I am not perfect... I have more headaches than when on abx, I still get a little achy... But I feel better than I have in two years. I have energy to do more than just go to work.

My PCP, thinks I should treat/ challenge again beginning in February... So wondering what would be a good combo to do so with? Before my UC FLARE, Llmd thought Bart might still be an issue... She Never thought babs was an issue... She thought Bactrim ds would be something to try...

My best months (and my worst) were on ceftin, cipro, flagyl pulse... But after months..got more and more depressed during the flagyl 2 weeks. (I also felt really good on cipro flagyl for the UC flare with no depression)

I also did good ( and bad )for a long while on zyth and doxy (this was my first treatment.)

Did ok with Biaxin, amandtidine.

Couldn't handle mino or rifampin.

So... Of course will discuss with llmd... But I like to have some ideas to discuss.

My thinking is either Bacrim ds (intrigued by this cause it seems to hit all three and would like to see if I stir up anything that could be babs since I have never really treated.)
Does Bactrim ds need to be combined with anything? Or can it be mono therapy?

Or Tindimax... Since I did very good on flagyl except depression...and hear side fx are less with Tindimax... Or could I pulse Tindimax with the Bactrim? Can Tindimax be mono therapy?

If you were me, having treated for 2 years, taken a 2 month break, feeling pretty good, what would you discuss with your doctors as a treatment/ challenge? Or would you just wait and see if you continue to feel ok? The thought of herxing again is scary... But the thought of relapsing is scarier.

Thanks for your ideas.

I would definitely discuss treating for parasites/worms. It was discussed at the latest Lyme conference and being recognized as the # 1 co-infection by Dr. H.

Google parasite symptoms.

Gail, doesn't flagyl treat parasites? And Tindimax?

Yes, some parasites are affected by these drugs by not all. G.I. parasites may be lurking and perhaps trying an hewrbal cleanse such as Parastroy and maybe some salt/c could expose some others that weren't effected by these drugs.

Cetainly easier on the liver and the salt/c supports the adrenals as well. Just a suggestion
