I picked up some florastor tonight and I was out sure if I should use this alone or with other probiotics. I have been having terrible esophageal and upper stomach burning shortly after meds and after eating. I took it about an hr so and now have an awful headache, hope it's not related [confused]

I take my S.boulardii (2capsules, Xymogen brand) with my other probiotics at bedtime.

I've never taken the brand name Florastor, maybe it has an additive that gave you a headache? I wouldn't think that the probiotic itself would cause any negative symptoms.

You might like to try some DGL for the stomach burning, it's really helped me in the past. It helps coat and heal the throat and stomach.

My favorite is Enzymatic Therapy brand DGL Ultra Sugar free

My LLMD suggested switching from Theralac (which I liked) to Florastor, as it did not have to be refrigerated and can be taken at the same time as abx. (abx can't kill it off as they can Theralac) Have been using it for over a year, and have not had any headaches associated with taking it.

I also take acidophilus first thing in the morning, and it does not seem to be a problem. Have never asked my LLMD about it, but take Florastor at night, so would imagine no interaction. Will ask at my app't this month.
