I haven't really had hiccups since I was a child - and that was MANY years ago!
In the past 3 wks I seem to get them frequently. Not looking for a fix, as they seem to be somewhat short lived, just frequent at this point.
Just wondering if this is a Lyme or med issue and if anyone else has experienced this.

Yes, this is related to Lyme. Lyme bacteria use up the magnesium in your cells. Low magnesium causes so many problems, including muscle twitches and spasms.
The diaphragm is a sheet of muscle separating the lungs from the abdomen. When it spasms, you get hiccups.
Are you taking supplemental magnesium? You should also eat foods high in magnesium.

Carol in PA - thank you for the information! It is wonderful.
Funny you should mention magniesium. I just ordered some, and Vitamin C. Hopeing to help with the gut - but if it helps with the hiccups that would help also!
thank you, very informative!!!

Plain vitamin C will give you reflux.
Suggest you refer to Burrascano Guidelines for info on what supplements to buy (vitamin C and mag) if your doctor is not guiding you.
Otherwise, the magnesium you order could easily end up being one of the non-absorbable kinds--waste of money, in other words.

Someone told me hiccups could also be a symptom of parasites...
