So after about 1 hr or so after my IV Rocephin dose tonight I began to shiver almost uncontrollably - going from hot to cold, then the terrible dizziess hit.
I feel crappy as usual on this drug but this is something new. Almost like it triggered an autonomic kind of reaction. The IV bag was not cold. Now I'm yawing trying to get my breath... wth?? Should I be scared? I live alone.

Did you run the bag faster than usual? You might try slowing it down a bit. Randomly mine would cause nausea and other fun stuff. I found if I just slowed it a bit, I did ok.
Also, I tried to be as comfortable and peaceful while running the bag.
Check with your doc, you might get more info.
Take care.

Thx Dogaandcats, I already run it over about 1 1/2 hrs - can't imagine going slower than that. Maybe the start of a huge herx? Had to crawl to my bedrm as I couldn't even stand! Thx for the tip, yes I basically sit in a comfy chair and do nothing!

How many weeks has it been since you started IV Rocephin?
It could be that its starting to work deeper (after 4 to 5 weeks), and you may be starting to notice 28 day flares/herx cycles.
I'm also on IV and live alone... Its pretty scary sometimes when new symptoms flare.
