I got my Metametrix test results back and one of the few things I tested positive for was Protozoa parasites (found in my stool testing).
What sort of parasite would this be and what is the standard treatment? SPeaking with LLMD later this week to discuss tx but wanted to get some insight from you guys.
I am on a few herbals for parasites but wondering if there is a targeted tx for protozoa infections....Any advice is greatly appreciated! DW...

I'm not an expert on all of the various different parasites/protozoas, and specific treatments for each, but there are a few things that are broad spectrum that would likely address what you have. Salt/c and Ivermectin come to mind. I'm sure some other people may weigh in here.
My guess is that you probably have some other bosom buddies in the mix, so I think it's best to try a rotation of different things. On the Rx side that would include Biltricide, Ivermectin, Pyrantel, Albenza and Alinia. On the herbal side, there are great products like Humaworm and Parastroy. I've been using, with great success, a tincture called Para A.
I think it is important to rotate different things so these bugs to not grow resistent.
Also, imo, I think it's a great idea to take salt/c regardless if you go the prescription route or the herbal route.

Also, let us know what you doctor recommended.

Thanks! I am still waiting to hear back from my LLMD on this.
For now I am taking Byron White A-P, A-FNG, Paragone and Pinx. LLMD did not want me to do the salt /c a while back but may add it in.
I am hoping that he gives me a hardy parasite protocol because I have a feeling that is the missing piece for me.

Protozoa are a bit more complicated than the other worm type parasites.
Malaria & babesia are both protozoa.

I've been battling protozoas after drinking contaminated well water for a week on vacation. 6 months later our own house well became contaminated as well. Some to research are blatocystis hominus, giardia, dietamoeba fragilis, entaomeba histolytica.
If you are near NYC there is a doctor who is excellent at finding them. He uses a sigmoidoscopy (very simple procedure - not painful) and analyzes the sample right there in his office. I feel he undertreats them but at least you will have a good chance at finding what it is. Stool samples are notoriously unreliable. Muscle or EDS testing is probably the best way to find out what you have if you believe in that.
