What kind of symptoms are common during the flares?

From page 26 of Burrascano Guidelines:
"Symptoms cycle rapidly, with flares every four to six days."
My lyme doctor told me babs has a 7-day cycle and a 14-day cycle. I experienced both. The 7-day cycle was first. I would begin getting sick every Friday evening and it lasted for 48 hours, then lifted.
I would go in and out of consciousness. I just laid there, no talking, no eating, no going to the bathroom, etc. And, I had a feeling of total doom that I could not talk myself out of.
When the flare lifted, I was back to my normal self, going to work all day, doing everything like a normal person. So, these flares were very obvious--like night and day.
When the doc added artemesinin, the flares were very mild--just an overewhelming need to lay down and sleep, no matter where I was at and no matter what was happening--driving, etc. I had to pull over and sleep.
Other people can just get their normal babs symptoms worse than usual.
I generally had NO symptoms of babs, but since I tested positive for it (through the FISH--it was seen in my blood), I treated it. When I did, these horrendous flares started happening like clockwork.
I had babs microti, by the way.

Interesting. Would you do anything specific during a flare such as up your arteminisin?
Did you treat babs before, during or after Lyme?

I treated lyme first, then bart, then babs. So, babs was all I had left when I began treating it.
My doc had me encompass the flares with the art. That is what I suggest to everyone. It was like a miracle for me!
Since I knew the flares started on Friday evening at 7 p.m., my doc had me start the art on Friday morning. I continued taking it until Sunday night when the flares ended.
That first Friday on the art, I didn't start my terrible flare at 7 p.m. as usual. Instead, the flare didn't start until Saturday afternoon. And, it was very mild. Nothing to write home about. Just a need to fall asleep.
Instead of the flare lasting 48 hours (2 days), it only lasted about 6 hours!
That was the effect of adding the art.
And, every weekend, the flare became less and less. I had to really look for the sleepiness and record it. Finally, the flares jumped to every other weekend (the 14-day cycle). I only got sleepy in the middle of the day every OTHER weekend. Finally, no symptoms at all ever. That's how we knew babs was finally gone. Then, treated a few more months, and that was it.
That was 8 years ago now, and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life.
As I said, I really didn't have any symptoms of babs. Burrascano talks about such cases.
("It has also been reported that Babesia infections can range in severity from mild, subclinical infection, to fulminant, potentially life threatening illness. Subclinical infection is often missed because the symptoms are incorrectly ascribed to Lyme." page 23)
The trouble was, before treating babs, if I ever tried to stop lyme treatment, I was sick as a dog, in bed within 2 weeks--physical and mental symptoms. That's the sign of an untreated coinfection.
So, look for the flares and if you can pinpoint them, that tells you when to pulse the artemesinin. I will never forget the dramatic effect it had on me.
