Which co-infection has the highest rate of insomnia? Is it Babesia?

I used to sleep all but maybe 4 hours in a 24 hour day, and now I can never sleep. I can't even nap!

What can I do? I am taking a controlled release melatonin and take Ambien occasionally. I don't want to take the Ambien every night because I don't want to get addicted.

Thoughts?

For me, it is bartonella that keeps me WIDE awake. I am exhausted but, like you, can't nap. The only time thoughout my entire treatment that I could sleep anywhere anytime was during babs treatment. Just my experience. Hope you get some rest-no sleep really stinks!

Babesia makes you sleep more. Bartonella causes wicked insomnia. So does protomyxzoa.

What are your other symptoms? Bart causes sore feet ( especially in the am) or painful shins, nodules under the skin that hurt when pressed (on outer thighs or upper arms), streaks (but not always), crusty moles, pea size brown spots (like age spots), swelling that looks like edema but does not leave a dent when pressed, depersonalization and irritation with outbursts of rage.

Protomyzoa symptoms include profound fatigue, aching muscles and/or joints, stabbing nerve pain, headaches, tooth or facial pain, air hunger, lack of stamina, brain fog, urinary irritation, depression, eventually auto immune disease (Hashimoto's, MS ALS),. . . . it is often confused with babesia.

I know I have Bartonella. I have had positive tests for it along with tons of stretch marks/rashes, sore throat, etc.

I'm treating Bart and Babs simultaneously right now, and I guess it has stirred things up. It's just so strange because I used to sleep literally all day, and now I can't sleep at all.

Thanks!

I feel your pain. I have both babs and bart. For a long time no matter how tired I was I couldn't nap to save my life. My body just couldn't shut itself down.

I am treating for both coinfections but hitting Babs harder now. All I want to do is sleep all day. I end up napping twice a day.

Still I have to take meds and melatonin to stay asleep at night and that is necessary even if I don't nap during the day.
